Set within 20 acres of grounds including a small lake with an abundance of wildlife, this two-bedroom ground-floor apartment is the perfect rural hideaway to explore a traditional countryside village. One of two holiday apartments on the owners’ impressive 240-acre farm where racehorses are bred, it is set within the valley of the River Ely in the Vale of Glamorgan. Peterston-super-Ely is a small rural village boasting a thriving community, only 7.5 miles away from the vibrant capital city of Cardiff. Jump back in time at the centre of the city to explore the medieval Cardiff Castle, 7 miles away, boasting more than 2,000 years of rich history. Take a swing at Cottrell Park, an idyllic golf course set in the heart of 400 acres of beautiful Parkland, 1.5 miles away. Along the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, there are plenty of beaches to explore, ranging from the bustling seaside resort of Barry Island (7 miles) to the stunning, peaceful beach at Southerndown (15 miles).

Through the entrance hallway, you’re welcomed into an open-plan living/dining room, complete with a large leather corner sofa, a smart TV and wooden dining table and four highbacked leather chairs. Leading through to the adjoining well-equipped kitchen, you’ll find everything you may need to cater, as well as more seating at the breakfast bar, with high stools enjoying fantastic views across the lake and surrounding countryside. Back through the apartment, you’ll find a double bedroom featuring an en-suite wet room, plus a second bedroom with a zip-and-link bed that also benefits from an en-suite bathroom.

Outside, you’ll find a shared patio area complete with garden furniture – the perfect spot for al fresco dining. Further, through the shared grounds, a large south-facing lawn awaits, leading down to an enclosed fishing lake to enjoy stunning watery views. There is also a shared utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

A lovely queit setting. Extensive cooking equipment is supplied. Its coming up to the time for Original cottages to rebrate the property and I think it shows, its tired, but Im sure that it wont take much freshen up. Comfortable and relaxing. The owners introduced themselves, but then just left us to enjoy our holiday. We knew where they were thougRead moreh if needed. Hide

Nice setting but lounge area a bit dark as you need a light on to read even during the day.

We had a very relaxing stay using this as a base to see family and surrounding areas. It was lovely to arrive to a warm welcoming place after what turned out to be a really bad journey.
