This cosy holiday cottage with coastal views offers friends or a family the chance to explore the wonderful Welsh coastline and the spectacular countryside beyond without having to travel far. A 400-metre walk brings you to Llanaber Beach with Barmouth’s amazing beach just over a mile down the road. Barmouth is where you will find all your local amenities, with a number of shops, restaurants and pubs to discover. This cottage really does have the best of both seaside and country living, with trails leading to the surrounding hills directly from the doorstep. Walkers will also love the Mawddach Way, joined 1 mile away in Barmouth, where the views of the Snowdonia mountains sweeping down to the Mawddach Estuary are phenomenal - an experience not to be missed. With Snowdonia National Park being so close, a walk to the top of Mount Snowdon is an option for the intrepid. 10 miles north along the coast is the picturesque village of Harlech with its internationally renowned golf course in a breathtaking setting, dominated by the brooding presence of Harlech Castle. For keen cyclists, the Coed y Brenin Mountain Biking Centre is also nearby. The ferry crossing from Barmouth to Fairbourne and the steam train at Fairbourne offer another great day out. The Italianate-style village of Portmeirion (18 miles) is also well worth visiting, made famous as the location for the 60s TV show, The Prisoner.

This is an upside-down house with a patio and living area on the top floor to make the most of the panoramic sea views. Entering the ground floor, a hallway separates two cosy bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a double and a single bed. The stylish family bathroom is cool and contemporary, finished in attractive tiling. Upstairs, the living space is open to the exposed roof beams, with a well-equipped kitchen/diner taking up half of the space and a lounge with two plush leather sofas filling the other. Beautiful wooden floors, white walls and skylight windows give the whole area a spacious feel, with glass doors opening onto the adjoining patio.

Outside, the patio area is surrounded by breathtaking scenery where lush fields lead toward the mountains at the rear, and far-reaching sea views to the front entice you to sit and lose track of time in the cooling sea breeze. A lovely spot to share a meal with friends or family overlooking the ocean.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage, location is fantastic, and we loved our breakfast and dinner outside with views of the sheep and sea. Cottage is very nice, everything we needed. A tranquil spot, we would happily return.

Our second time at this cottage and we hope to book again for next year. Great location being close to Barmouth. We enjoy seeing the sheep in the fields at the rear and the rabbits too. This cottage has everything we need and makes a good base for anyone wanting to explore further afield.

We had such a nice time in the cottage! All the peace we needed, with the company of the sheep, the view of the sea and the sound of the waves....perfect! Yet, not far for a stroll down to the town and beach if we needed some food, essentials or a bit more entertainment. We loved the slate caverns, just 16min down the road in Llanfair, for a reaRead moresonable price also. Perfect holiday for us 5 (2 adults and 3 growing boys between 10-16yrs). We also enjoyed our occasional lovely chats with Gareth, one of the cottage owners! Hide

Spacious accommodation and the small terrace had a lovely outlook. Nice seeing the sheep in the fields around us especially active on the day when the ewes were sheared. Made very welcome and enjoyed our stay.

Beudy Gwenoliaid was a wonderful place to stay for a week, a short hop down to the beach, and a pleasant walk along the Promenade into Barmouth. It was lovely being within a working farm with sheep for neighbours, and very friendly owners. The cottage is well kitted out and very comfortable.

Lovely spot backing onto fields above the main road. Cant hear the cars - only the waves! Simply but well decorated upside down house, with living space above and bedrooms below. Means the living space has masses of light and sea views, opening onto a terrace with a sturdy picnic bench that was ideal for our young family. Highly recommended.
