This beautifully bright and modern home in the pretty village of Pennal is the ideal accommodation option for small families or groups of friends who want to enjoy all the untamed beauty of southern Snowdonia. Pennal is a lovely village where you’ll find the remains of Cefn Caer Roman Fort (1 mile) and the little 6th-century church of St Peter ad Vincula (300 metres) - the site of the last senate meeting held by the Welsh prince, Owain Glyndŵr. The traditional market town of Machynlleth – the ancient capital of Wales – is just 4 miles away. It’s a great place to browse antique stores, alternative lifestyle shops and galleries – and if you’re there on a Wednesday, there’s a wonderful market that was launched by the royal charter in 1291. Art lovers will adore visiting MOMA Machynlleth, a modern art gallery that’s housed in a former Wesleyan chapel. Alternatively, a 7-mile drive takes you to the picturesque coastal village of Aberdyfi. Take a stroll along the beautiful sandy beach - where the Dyfi River meets the blue waters of Cardigan Bay – or try your hand at sailing, rowing, canoeing or fishing.
Step inside and you’ll discover a large, bright, open-plan living space consisting of a welcoming lounge area, dining area and kitchen. You’ll find everything you need to cook up a storm for your loved ones in the stylish kitchen, and you can host a wonderful dinner at the large dining table in front of the patio doors that lead into the garden. After a hearty meal, retire to the lounge area to take in the views through the triple patio doors, or stretch out in front of the inviting, modern fire feature. A handy separate WC rounds off the ground-floor layout. Head upstairs and you’ll find three spacious bedrooms – two doubles and a twin – as well as a stylish family bathroom. The first double room boasts patio doors that lead out onto a south-facing balcony (the perfect spot for your morning coffee), and the second double has an en-suite shower room with a double ‘waterfall’ shower cubicle.
Outside, you’ll discover a peaceful lawned garden with outdoor furniture – the ideal place to pull up a chair after dinner and crack open a bottle of something cool and crisp.
