This charming 1620s fisherman’s cottage, set across three floors on the edge of the river in Fowey, is an excellent place for a group of friends or family to stay for a classic Cornwall getaway. Treat yourself to some freshly-caught seafood from the local restaurants in the town — all within 0.5 miles of the property. Stroll along the waterfront and take a dip at the sandy Readymoney Cove (1 mile), or catch a ferry across to Polruan and head off on a hike along the South West Coast Path to National Trust - Lantic Bay (3.5 miles).
Inside the property, on the lower ground floor, you’ll find a kitchen/diner/lounge. With a neutral colour palette and white wooden beamed ceiling, the room feels light and airy. Enjoy clear views of the River Fowey from wherever you are in the room through the traditional style windows. The kitchen area is neatly positioned against one wall on the left-hand side of the room. Panning across to the right, you’ll see 2 doors with steps out into the patio area with table and chairs. On the right-hand side of the room, there are comfortable sofas to sink into while watching the boats pass by. In the evenings, your feet will be warmed by the underfloor heating throughout this open-plan room. Climb the stairs up to the ground floor and walk into the master bedroom which is bright and an en-suite with a rainfall shower. On a rainy day, the snug is a lovely cosy space with two large sofas, a Smart TV and river views. There’s an extra WC in the cloakroom. The first floor has two bedrooms and a bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a double bed and en-suite with a shower and the other is a twin room. After a long day of exploring, soak in a bubble bath in the family bathroom.
Walk down three steps to reach the patio area. There is a table and chairs to sit at and enjoy an evening drink while watching the bobbing boats on the river. At the edge of the water, there are steps down to the foreshore.
