A spacious holiday home, ideal for a couples’ walking holiday or getaway with friends. Located in the hamlet of Llanymawddwy, it offers a private, tranquil setting, surrounded by mountain scenery, and you can enjoy mountain and countryside walks from the front door. There are countless opportunities for walking, cycling, fishing, water sports, and pony trekking in the local area. The cottage sits close to the foot of Aran Fawddwy, the highest mountain in Southern Snowdonia, and near to the highest pass in Wales. This leads to Lake Vyrnwy (12 miles), where you’ll find the RSPB Centre, and Lake Tegid (13 miles), Wales largest natural lake, for water sports activities, cycling, and scenic walks. For a more relaxing day out, sit back and enjoy the views on Bala Lake Railway or the narrow gauge railway at Talyllyn. The area is part of an International Dark Sky Reserve, which means it is officially recognised as one of the best places for star-gazing inside Snowdonia National Park. Dinas Mawddwy (4 miles) is home to a welcoming village pub/restaurant, as well as a visitor shop and cafe. The cottage is central to three beautiful Welsh market towns; Dolgellau (13 miles), Bala (14 miles), and Machynlleth (17 miles), all of which offer a variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes.

Slate flooring is fitted throughout the ground-floor accommodation. A spacious and modern sun/garden room offers stunning views over the Dyfi Valley. This room benefits from two large sofas. The art-deco-style snug is full of character, including original wood panelling and beams. This room has a cosy open fire, which can be swapped for an electric fire on request. It has two contemporary sofas, a TV, and a DVD player. The cosy parlour-style living room has a period feature fireplace, comfortable seating, plus a table and chairs. The contemporary kitchen is fully-equipped, and there is a separate utility room with washing facilities. The dining room has a table to seat up to six people, and features an original cast-iron bread oven, and period beams. This room offers wonderful views across the Dyfi Valley. The property benefits from a ground-floor shower room with a large shower. Upstairs, there is a light and airy double bedroom, a double bedroom with a cast-iron fireplace and bed, a twin bedroom offering views across the Dyfi Valley, and a period bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The peaceful and private enclosed lawned garden with a patio space offers beautiful landscape views. It has garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ set for al fresco dining. The outdoor space is a fantastic place for bird watching and stargazing.

The cottage is stunning, and so is the surroundings! I have never seen a better equipped kitchen before in a holiday home. This place is a real treat!

This is such a beautiful property and the owner has been very helpful and made us feel very welcome. The property has more than the basic things you need and the extra pillows, blankets are such a bonus! The view surrounding the property is breath taking and we also enjoyed bird watching from the sun lounge.

Best equipped holiday cottage I've ever stayed in, everything you could need was there. Hosts were helpful and friendly. Views were amazing. Watching the various birds feeding was a delight. Being on the edge of the mach loop was a bonus we saw a number of jets flying over on their low flight training. We would definitely return.

We had a very pleasant stay at this accommodation. Everything was there (e.g. spices to cook), as well as cleaning products, toilet paper and thank you for the gifts and the nice phonecall on arrival. The surroundings are stunning and there are a lot of birds in the garden, which is really nice, but guests should be aware that it is very remote andRead more 30 minutes to the nearest village. We had a really nice time in a clean and really nice cottage with a lot of rooms. Hide

Our second stay at this wonderful cottage. It was just as delightful on our return trip and my favourite of all the holiday cottages we've ever stayed in. It goes without saying that we'll be back to stay in the future.

Absolute stunning location with unparalleled views in a small village. Depending on the weather the landscape was changing all the time. The cottage itself is homely and the best equipped property we have ever stayed in. The sun room at the rear was really comfortable and it was a joy to watch the varied bird life visiting the garden.

We had a lovely time in Maesmor, it was very well located and had absolutelty everything you could need in a self-catering property and more. The owner was very welcoming and there was lots of information in the cottage about local walks and things to do, which was really helpful.

What a blissful house! Enough space for the 4 of us, clean down to the corners, equipped for everything you can think of and then that view!!! We spent a lot of time in the conservatory after our drives in the beautiful Welsh countryside. Also had contact with Nona, the owner, very friendly woman. The first day on the trip we drove right out of tRead morehe gate. This gave incredibly beautiful views and terribly narrow roads. We never drove to the right again, which always resulted in shorter driving times, but the view was never the same again. Thank you Nona for sharing this piece of paradise. If we ever come to Snowdonia again, we will definitely visit Maesmor. Hide
