Try canoeing, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing and powerboating at the Bala Adventure and Watersports Centre (700 metres), as well as climbing and abseiling, archery, camp craft, mountain biking and white-water rafting. Visit the cascading waterfall system of Swallow Falls (26 miles) and take memorable photos as you hike around it or just have a picnic. Dolgellau is just 17 miles away and is a fine spot for exploring the mountains and coast of Snowdonia. The Mawddach Trail to Barmouth can be started here and is a cycle ride to rival most.
