Set high on the hillside in the iconic Sennen Heights building in Sennen Cove, this luxury apartment has been designed with couples in mind. Located in the scenic village of Sennen, a popular surfing spot, with a mile of soft white sandy beach of Whitesands Bay and a picturesque harbour, the village combines a working fishing port with an easy-going surf style. A range of local independent shops, galleries, cafes, and eateries and attractions are all within reach. Local attractions include the world-famous Minack Theatre at Porthcurno, 3.5 miles down the road, or walk to Land’s End, just over 1 mile away, the most westerly point in Britain. Explore the historical mining heritage the area is famous for at Cape Cornwall. It is well worth the 6.5-mile drive to experience the spectacular sea views and the possibility of spotting dolphins or basking sharks. There are many walks close to the property, with the South West Coast Path being literally on the doorstep.

The apartment sits at the top of around 80 granite steps on the coastal path. It is all on one floor and has a large, stylish lounge/diner/kitchen perfect for relaxing, preparing a romantic meal and enjoying the incredible views. There’s an extra bit of luxury with a roll-top bath under the window in the bedroom where you can soak up the views while soaking in the bath and sipping a glass of something fizzy. There is also a double-head walk-in rainfall shower in the shower room. After dark, cuddle up and explore the universe with the telescope.

There’s no garden attached to the apartment, but the outdoors is right on the doorstep with the coast path, beach, and lots of outdoor areas for enjoying the fresh air and spectacular sea views.

If you are a mountain goat, then this is the flat for you not a Cottage a flat ,the stairs up to the flat and quite frankly terrible very steep and not pleasant to climb, we did leave a day early as we had had enough , we both love Sennen but the flat took all the joy out of the holiday.

"The Lookout" at Sennen Cove has a number of desirable features. It is located very close to the harbour and beach (even if the 76 steps up to it can be demanding), and also to the coast path. It has fantastic views of the sea from three large windows. The flat has a contemporary, coastal feel and is light and airy. The extra-large bed is comfortabRead morele. The bathroom has an excellent shower, and the one-person bath in the bedroom is a lovely addition, especially given the view from it. There is plenty of hot water and good water pressure throughout the flat. The kitchen includes a full-size cooker and oven, 'fridge, and microwave, and while there isn't much preparation space, it will probably work well enough for most. There is also a washing machine (which we didn't use). Sadly, the flat isn't particularly well looked after. The cleaning in particular was poor in places. While the obvious things were clean enough (sink, bath, shower, etc.), we were bothered by the following: (1) We had to clean dusty cobwebs and spiders off the walls and ceilings in the bedroom. It was clear that no one had done this for weeks. (2) There were what looked like animal hairs on the bed cover when we arrived. (3) There was a dirty single mattress underneath the bed, as well as a mattress protector and sheet. (4) The floor throughout the flat had not been mopped for some time and was sticky. (5) There was black mold on all the window frames. It looked like someone had possibly run a cloth over some of it, but little more than that. We found that a substantial amount came off with just a cursory wipe, suggesting that no one had made any real effort to clean them in a long time. Some of the walls around the windows also needed to have mold removed and to be repainted. (6) The blinds were dirty and needed washing or replacing. (7) The windows were dirty and needed to be cleaned on the inside and the outside. (8) The 'fridge was so noisy that it could be heard in the bedroom with the door closed. Given that it only just about managed to keep items cold when on its coldest setting (and that in cool-ish weather), it presumably needed repair. Our milk went off after two days of being in there, strangely. (9) The sliding bedroom door only opened about three quarters of the way because of how it had been hung. (10) The windows, which are one the flat's main attractions, open inwards, but couldn't be opened more than a few inches because of the blinds. (11) The telescope didn't work, despite following he instructions; my best guess is that a power cable was missing. We drew this to Original Cottages' attention the day after we arrived using the e-mail address specified for support during stays, but heard nothing back. If the issues above were addressed, we would be happy to recommend this flat without reservation and probably to book it again ourselves. Hide

This apartment is only suitable for the fit and able. It is halfway down a cliff with 78 steps ( some very steep) to the top road (Marias Lane) and 80 steps down to the harbour front where there is some non- designated residents parking. This make unloading and loading of the car really difficult. In saying this, the views from the apartment are exRead moreceptional and make the trek up and down more worthwhile. The rooms are spacious and the bed is huge and very comfortable. The shower was also very good and there was plenty of hot water. We would have preferred a proper table and chairs to the bar and stools but maybe thats an age thing! The WiFi is excellent but the TV is BT only so there is no Freeview and it is blocked for linking any personal accounts eg Sky Go. It is also quite slow and cumbersome to use. Hide
