A deluxe two-storey property with coastal decor beside a beach on the edge of a Cornwall fishing port, which is perfect for families or a group of friends who want an extra special getaway. Located in the town of Porthleven, in the Cornwall Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty, you’ll be spoilt for choice for scenic hikes and idyllic beaches as well as the excellent eateries and shops in the town centre. The harbour is 0.5 miles from the property, which hosts a large number of seafood restaurants, quaint cafes, and boutique shops. Porthleven Beach is less than 0.5 miles away, but if you want to explore other beaches nearby, follow the coastal path to Loe Bar Beach (1mile).

On the lower ground floor of this property, you’ll find a large open-plan lounge/diner, a kitchen and a bedroom. As you enter the spacious lounge/diner you’ll be blown away by the spectacular sea views through the wide window which is beside the comfortable sofa and armchairs. Sit back and relax as you gaze at the view while enjoying the company of your guests. To the left of the lounge area, there’s a dining table and chairs for enjoying special homecooked meals together. Walking through into the adjoining kitchen, this space is bright and airy with plenty of surface area for preparing food. The bedroom on this floor has a single bed and an en-suite with a shower, which doubles as a cloakroom. Up a level, on the ground floor, is the serene master bedroom. Wake up in the morning feeling rejuvenated from a deep sleep on the lavish super-king-size bed. Open the curtains and reveal the large windows, and sit on the comfortable chairs which look out to the sea. Or, step outside and enjoy some peace and quiet on your private balcony. This room also boasts an en-suite, where you can find a bath to unwind in with a good book. Inside the final bedroom, there’s a double bed, which also benefits from sea views, and another en-suite with a shower.

Outside you’ll find a tranquil patio area with a table, chairs and parasol. The glass-panelled fence enables clear views of the ocean below. Cook a meal on the BBQ and dine alfresco in the sunshine with the sound of the waves crashing nearby. Walk down the garden steps to reach the small enclosed garden.

This property is located in a beautiful area with stunning views over the coastline. We found it comfortable and quiet, although if you have a dog you need to be aware that there isnt a utility room for wet dog towels and walking boots.

We have stayed at many luxurious and high quality "cliff-side" properties in Cornwall over the last twenty years or so, but Ocean View in Porthleven has easily been the most relaxing and most enjoyable for us. The layout is slightly unusual in having the front-door lead to the bedrooms, with stairs leading down to the living area. As it is, my wifeRead more and I found ourselves spending most of our time in the bedroom (stop sniggering at the back) with the glorious floor-to-ceiling, full width window looking out to the sea and the equally fabulous private outside balcony. The continuous sound of the waves is truly intoxicating, as are the views both upstairs and downstairs. The property is extraordinarily well equipped, particularly in the kitchen where almost every cooking need is catered for. The layout is essentially open-plan and both the living area and main bedroom feel huge with the latter, as mentioned already, doubling as a very agreeable living space during the day. Position-wise, Ocean View enjoys a near-perfect location at the end of Loe Bar Road. There is very little vehicular traffic during the day (perhaps two or three cars an hour), consisting merely of a few folk parking to enjoy the short (and very easy) walk along the coastal path to Loe Bar. At night, there are no cars at all and no street lighting such that the property is thus always very peaceful. Despite this, Porthleven town centre is a mere fifteen to twenty minutes' walk away, depending on level of fitness, and is delightful. As an aside, we enjoyed both Michelin "recommended" restaurants, The Square and Kota, the latter providing a superb nine-course tasting menu. All in all, we have thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks at Ocean View and very much look forward to returning in the near future. To the owners, thank you! Hide

We had a wonderful 7 night stay at Ocean View in May & were treated with beautiful weather to make a great relaxing holiday, the views are spectacular with addition to great walks in the area with access to the beach less than 10 mins down the road. The house feels like a home, very quiet well equipped & warm, also plenty of dog walking trails on tRead morehe adjacent Penrose Estate, wonderful. We are going to stay there again & Porthleven is beautiful with everything you would want in a friendly Cornish location. Hide

Beautiful location, stunning views. Well equipped and comfortable house with great walks from the front door. Situated a little out town which was lovely but easy walk into town if you want to.

Ocean View cannot be faulted . This was our third return visit and we hope to make many more . The location and views from every room and patio are exceptional .The cottage is extremely well equipped and comfortable the owners have taken trouble to ensure Ocean view really does feel like a welcoming home from home .

Waking up to the views out of the bedroom window each morning is pretty special. It was very odd coming home and not being able to hear the breaking of the waves. This is our second time to Ocean View and we hope to come again, as do our dogs who very much enjoyed their holiday. Porthleven is excellent with lots of lovely walks on the doorstep. Great location especially for dog owners, with easy access to the coastal walk. Fabulous views of the sea from 2 bedrooms and the living room. 15 mins walk from Porthleven, which has good pubs and a local brewery.

The master bedroom with the view was fantastic, however the second bedroom was a little on the small side and lacked in storage space. The outside patio needed to be smartened up and cushions for sunloungers supplied. The steps down to the grassed area were difficult to negotiate as trees from next door had grown over partially blocking the steps dRead moreown. The grassed area had an old broken sunlounger which need to be disposed of and this area made more usuable as its more sheltered from the wind. Hide

Sea view was amazing. Porthleven a lovely Cornish village with shops and pubs/ cafes. Good base to explore other places in that area. Lovely house for us 4 adults.
