This stone two-bedroom cottage boasts plenty of original features as well as a National Trust protected steam mine popular with filmmakers on your doorstep. A home from home for a coastal getaway. Steeped in industrial roots, the former mining town of Pendeen 0.5 miles away is now a small, quiet village boasting an attractive church and an award-winning pub. High-up on the exposed cliffs of the 'Tin Coast', part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, discover Levant Mine featuring a restored 1840s beam engine running on steam, open Sunday to Thursday, less than 1 mile away. Nestled between the moors and the sea, Trengwainton Garden (6.5 miles) is set in 25 acres of sheltered gardens featuring walled gardens and wooded paths, bursting with exotic trees, flowers and shrubs. On the Land's End peninsula, stroll around 19th-century Pendeen Lighthouse 2 miles away to admire even more stunning views over the rugged coastline.

You’re welcomed straight into the cosy living room through the front door, complete with period exposed brick and panelled ceiling, comfortable sofas and chairs, and an adorable window seat overlooking the rural front of the cottage. Following the wooden flooring through the cottage, you’re met with a smart dining room with farmhouse-style table and chairs and nods to nautical with a statement light fitting. The kitchen at the rear of the cottage features bold blue painted cupboard doors, well-equipped with everything to cater. Upstairs, a pretty and spacious twin room occupies the front of the cottage and features another lovely window seat and plenty of storage space. A beautiful king-size bedroom occupies the back of the cottage, featuring magnificent sea views and a handy en-suite with an electric shower and WC. Another family bathroom with shower cubicle and WC complete this cosy cottage.

The rear of the cottages features a cute patio courtyard garden, enclosed by a high stone wall and dotted with potted flowers and foliage, creating the perfect private spot for a BBQ or dining outdoors long into the evening.

The cottage is lovely and a great location. Benefits from off road parking. A key for the rear door would be useful - allowing exit to walk the dog. The en-suite to the main bedroom is very small. I was not able to use the toilet due to the very narrow space. I am not a particularly large person but sitting on the toilet was impossible. We were disappointed with this cottage as it needed tlc. En suite wc is virtually unusable due to being jammed in an extremely narrow place. Cooker control panel is worn out and has faded pen markings showing what is what but hard to read. Wheelie bin was overflowing when we arrived and stayed that way all week. Bathrooms very dated with some mouldRead more growth. On the plus side its a good location and cottage has a lot of space and kitchen equipment. We would not return. Hide

Great cottage for exploring this corner of Cornwall with everything it has to offer from historic mines to amazing scenery and far more than we managed to see in one visit. An extended original "miner's cottage" there was a great connection to the past we wanted to investigate in the area. Great food at the local Trewellard Arms and at Geevor Mine Read moreamong many other locations. For those wanting to explore the mining heritage, having three major mines practically on the doorstep, and within walking distance if you try a bit, is great and you can watch sunsets over the mine heads and stacks from the cottage. Visitors with dogs may want to be careful of the local cats who like to sun on the courtyard wall, but cat lovers will need to avoid adopting the bravest who will try to come in if you leave the back door open. Maybe not great if you have a large car, but them most roads around that part of Cornwall are better suited to small cars anyway. The road outside can get you fretting about getting in and out unless you are confident getting in and out of a fairly blind turn into a narrow road or turning the car within the shared parking area. Don't see that as an issue with the cottage though, it's the nature of Cornwall and a world which remains much unchanged since before cards existed - take the chance to live a different life for a while. Cute, convenient and comfy. The location is perfect for walking the coast path. Nice secure back yard for the dogs. The kitchen is well equipped and the bedrooms are cosy. We found the showers a bit tiny but nice and hot after a day out walking in January.
