Escape to the seaside in this fabulous holiday home with sea views, set right next to Porthleven Beach. The property sleeps four guests, making it ideal for a family getaway or couples’ retreat. The unspoilt village retains much of its old fishing character, with quaint cottages and a picturesque harbour. The village is known for its excellent independent restaurants and also hosts a three-day food festival each year. From the beach you can enjoy walks along the sand and shingle shoreline, to Loe Bar and the National Trust Penrose Estate. If it’s bathing and water sports you’re looking for, head to the family resort of Praa Sands, just 5 miles along the coast; the idyllic white, sandy beach is backed by sand dunes and offers calm, sheltered waters that are perfect for swimming. St Michael’s Mount – one of Cornwall’s most recognised landmarks – makes an excellent day out. Take the ferry across to the island to explore the fascinating medieval church and castle, wander around the subtropical terraced garden and marvel at the breathaking views across the bay.
Enter the property into the open-plan lounge/diner. The light and bright space has high ceilings, elegant decor, and two stunning ornamental fireplaces, one of which houses a cosy wood burner. Curl up in the sumptuous seating after a busy day to read a book or watch a film on the TV/DVD. The dining table seats four guests, and is a lovely spot to all come together after an action-packed day. You'll also find a characterful cottage kitchen, complete with a feature Cornish range. Stairs lead to the first floor, where you’ll find the impressive double bedroom with striking wooden floors and ceiling, and relaxing views out to sea from a cosy window seat. The charming twin bedroom is also located on this floor, along with the stylish family bathroom. Both bedrooms have ornamental fireplaces.
To the rear of the cottage, discover an adorable enclosed courtyard with a bistro set where you can sip a coffee in the sunshine.
