Property code: OC-NIGELH

Slip into a slower pace of life in this delightful cottage in the heart of the picturesque village of Mousehole. The property, with its roaring wood burner and cosy snug, sleeps four guests and makes the perfect couples’ retreat or base for a small family. Spend your days meandering along the winding, narrow lanes that lead to the idyllic harbour, popping into the galleries, artists’ workshops, and cute cafes that are dotted throughout the village. Grab an ice cream and head to the small harbour beach to soak up the summer sun, or hop in the car and journey to the picture-postcard beach at Porthcurno (8.5 miles), with its soft white sand and sheltered turquoise waters. Whilst you’re here, you must visit The Minack Theatre – one of Cornwall’s most-loved attractions. Carved into the cliffs overlooking Porthcurno Bay, it really is a sight to behold. If you get the chance, watch one of the live performances for a night you’ll never forget. When there isn’t a performance, you can explore the theatre and the subtropical gardens, taking in the truly breathtaking scenery.

The charming cottage has been lovingly decorated and furnished, with an eclectic array of furniture and accessories sitting alongside original stonework and traditional features. Seascapes adorn the walls, reminding you of your fantastic coastal location. A spacious kitchen/diner provides the perfect place for family mealtimes around the large wooden table, followed by a movie night in the glow of the wood burner in the cosy lounge. Stairs lead to the first floor, where you’ll find an inviting king-size bedroom with sea views, and a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. In the evening, why not sneak away to the peaceful snug to curl up in the armchair with your favourite book as the sun sets and creates magical reflections in the bay? Completing the cottage is a stylish family bathroom.

There is a small patio to the front of the property where you can sit with a glass of wine and admire the views across the bay to St Michael’s Mount. You’ll also find outdoor storage for wetsuits and buckets and spades.

Nigel Cottage is an absolute gem. Fabulous accommodation with all amenities you could need. The bonus off off road parking makes it stand out from the rest. Would also give a special mention of The Coastguard opposite, lovely place. Also fabulous meal at No2 Fore Street on the harbour.
