This spectacular holiday cottage, set high above Portmellon, makes an idyllic coastal bolthole for family get-togethers and holidays with friends. The property is situated on a quiet road that forms part of the Cornwall Coast Path, providing you with fabulous walking opportunities from your front door. A short 0.5-mile stroll takes you down to Portmellon’s small, sandy cove, where you can share a picnic, build sandcastles, or enjoy a relaxing drink in the pub overlooking the beach. Just over 0.5 miles away is the village of Mevagissey. Here, you’ll find narrow streets leading down to a picture-postcard double harbour, where fishing boats come and go throughout the day. The village is renowned for its delicious seafood restaurants, as well as its selection of independent galleries and boutiques. You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches in the area. Two highlights include Porthpean (5.5 miles) - a sandy, family-friendly beach - and the ‘secret’ cove at Hemmick (3.5 miles), which is reached via a steep, narrow road.
The holiday home is set across a split-level site, and steps lead down to the first floor. Here you'll find a sizeable kitchen with delightful views, and a beautiful L-shaped lounge/diner. This stunning space is light and bright, with a variety of seating areas and a gorgeous dining table overlooking the garden. Glass doors lead from here to the spacious conservatory, which is a wonderful spot to sip a morning coffee, whilst planning your day and looking out to sea. Two bedrooms – a king-size and a twin, both with sea views – are also on this level, along with the family bathroom. External steps lead down to the ground floor and the final, twin bedroom. This room has stunning sea views, as well as tea and coffee-making facilities and an en-suite shower room.
Outside, a large, enclosed garden envelops the property with a sweeping lawn and colourful coastal plants and flowers. The garden has a choice of seating, to really make the most of the fantastic views across the water and surrounding countryside, including a raised decked area and terrace with outdoor furniture.
