NEW HOMEOWNERS

Situated within the Exmoor National Park on a quiet country lane that leads up onto open moorland, this retreat is furnished and equipped to a high standard throughout. The cottage is a 600 metres from the pretty hamlet of Barbrook, which has a small garage store. The twin coastal villages of Lynton and Lynmouth are 2 miles away and offer individual shops, cafes and restaurants. The Valley of Rocks, 1 mile west of Lynton, is famous for its herds of goats, geology, and stunning sunset views. Alternatively, take a ride on the Lynton & Barnstaple Steam Railway, a popular narrow-gauge railway. Further afield, the sandy surfing beaches of Woolacombe (20 miles) and Croyde (22 miles) make for fantastic day trips.

This welcoming, rustic cottage is full of character. Entering the open-plan kitchen/diner via the farmhouse-style stable door, you are met by a fully equipped kitchen with modern fixtures and fittings that still maintains a certain rural charm. The lovely living space has a high vaulted ceiling, feature beams and a cosy suite for relaxing after an active day. Stairs led down to the lower level, where there are two attractive bedrooms: one with a double bed and en-suite shower room, the other with twin single beds, and a family bathroom adjacent.

Outside is a private patio and enclosed garden with a gas BBQ, ideal for al fresco dining on a summer evening.

Wonderful cottage in a beautiful part of the world. Everything we could think of for us and the dogs was provided. Heating with individual controls for each room was also very welcome! Thank you, well be booking again.

We stayed at Bramble cottage and were welcomed by freshly baked cake made by the owner. A little touch but very much appreciated. The cottage is a upside down layout with kitchen and lounge upstairs and the bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs. The main bedroom has a shower room and the other twin bedroom uses the main bathroom with bath and no shoRead morewer. The outside has a gas bbq and sitting area which was nice for having meals and drinks when the weather allows. Cottage was well equipped and generally clean throughout which made our stay a delight. Location wise its not for the faint hearted if you planning on walking into Lynton but if you want to walk into Exmoor it is ideally located. I would definitely stay there again if we were to base ourselves in that locale again. Hide

We had a lovely stay, Suzanne made sure she called us to check up on any specifics the week of our arrival and took the time to check all was well. The location right by the moor is fantastic for dog walkers, the cottage itself was lovely exactly as pictured, except the ceilings were higher! We had a great time, thank you Marsdens and Suzanne.
