This traditional brick cottage is tucked away down a quiet lane in Halesworth with only a few other properties nearby – yet the marketplace and high street are only 350 metres away when you need to stock up on supplies. This charming market town was built on a Roman settlement and has historic buildings as well as a pedestrianised thoroughfare centred around independent shops. The Cut Arts Centre stages exhibitions, plays and concerts and Halesworth Arts Festival runs for two weeks in October. Southwold’s lovely sandy beach, shops and pier are 9 miles away and Minsmere Nature Reserve is 12 miles away for walks, cycle rides and bird watching.

The interiors are country cottage-style with characterful wooden furnishings. The spacious kitchen includes a pantry – on chillier days you can light the wood burner as you dine at the table. From here, two steps lead to a light and airy sunroom with a sofa, bean bags and French doors that open onto the south-facing garden. This is the perfect spot to recline with a good book or sip a morning coffee. The cosy lounge has a deep pile rug and a wood burner-effect electric fire for warmth, as well as a Smart TV. Upstairs, discover a double bedroom with an ornamental fireplace, a single bedroom, and a bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The pretty courtyard garden has both paved and grassed areas and plenty of seating to enjoy the sunshine.

Top cottage. Very cosy, very quirky, very comfy. Great personality, great garden, great little town. This was our second visit. We now stayed for two weeks and again had a wonderful time. Thank you and greetings from The Netherlands. Ton, Gina and Juulke the dog.

The cottage was very comfortable and clean with a quiet central location. The garden was lovely and we enjoyed sitting in the garden room in all weathers. I would say that the parking space is only suitable for a small car. We applied for a permit online and parked on the road.

Cottage was very clean, comfortable and had a nice atmosphere. Garden was neat and plenty of seating for warm weather days. It was within easy reach of the town and the Arts Centre which we went to twice -an excellent facility for a small town. Good public transport - we used bus and train.

The cottage is good and the village of Harewood is very nice to walk around with a good choice of places to eat. Also the location is good for the coast and inland.

Lovely comfortable cottage in a central location which was convenient for us as we don't drive. We especially loved the garden room when the sun shone (which was not very often unfortunately!)

Chapel Cottage is a fantastic cottage in a fantastic location. It has its own personality and it never stopped to amaze and surprise us. We stayed for one week and every day we discovered something new. This cottage just keeps on giving. Comfortable, with a quirky old-worldly feel but fully equipped with everything you can wish for. A beautiful, drRead moreeamy, very quiet garden with a magnificent view of the church. To top it off, Halesworth is a beautiful little town with lovely shops and eateries aplenty. This must be the finest cottage we ever stayed in and we will definitely come back here. This kind of cottage is unique, special and precious, and is one of the main reasons why we foreigners like to visit your country that much.
