Magnificent sea views along the coastal path, seals sunbathing at Blakeney Point and a steam train puffing along the Poppy Line heritage railway: these are just a few of the attractions to see and enjoy within a few miles of this peaceful retreat. Stroll along the promenade in the lively seaside town of Sheringham (7 miles) and have a paddle on the picture-perfect beach. Explore Holt’s hidden lanes, galleries and shops before treating yourself to a seafood lunch or dinner made from the local catch at one of the many restaurants in this lovely little town. Or visit Felbrigg (10 miles), a National Trust country house with a wonderful walled garden and 520-acre landscaped park.
Walk through the cottage door into a bright, open-plan sitting and dining room, with wooden stairs in one corner. After a great day’s outing, relax on the stylish sofa, with a TV, iPod dock, Bluetooth speaker and DVD and CD player to hand. Pale wooden floors and a wooden dining table with two high-backed wicker chairs with cushions complement a picture of simple but stylish comfort in this compact property. If the sea air sharpens your appetite, get cooking in the galley kitchen with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, washing machine and dishwasher. Upstairs in the bedroom, Scandi-style bedlinen is the perfect choice for the wooden double bed. A painted wall and wooden accessories add a seaside feel to the bathroom, which has a walk-in shower and WC.
An arbour and table in the small courtyard garden to the front of the property is a great spot to relax outdoors with a drink. Be mindful that the next-door cottage has a right of way across the courtyard. There is an allocated off-road parking space.
