Peruse Docking’s Wednesday market for lush local produce or look further afield to King’s Lynn (17 miles) which holds Tuesday and Saturday markets. Fakenham (12 miles), North Norfolk’s largest town, has a market each Thursday and is set in sublime countryside. Watch the Queen’s Household Cavalry race along Holkham Beach (11 miles), or relax on the wide golden sands at Brancaster, Heacham and Hunstanton (6, 7 and 8 miles respectively). Bird and nature watchers will love the reserves at Holkham, Holme Dunes (8 miles), Snettisham (12 miles) and Blakeney (19 miles); look out for avocets and marsh harriers. Savour sweet crabs at Hunstanton, dine out at Holkham Hall and visit the Whin Hill Cider Orchard in Wells-next-the-Sea (12 miles). Explore the elegant past at Houghton Hall (7 miles) and Sandringham House and Estate (8 miles).

Inside, you’ll find the spacious and welcoming open-plan lounge/diner, with its sumptuous leather sofas, Smart TV, CD player and stylish window-side wooden table and benches. Light floods into the sitting room through wide windows, and in the evening, it’s sublime to sit around the wood burner with a glass of local wine, or kick back with a book, play a game or watch TV. Prepare the fine farm food you’ve found on your travels in the kitchen. After days of seaside fun, soothe sore limbs in the luxurious bathroom. After nightcaps beneath the stars on the patio, sink to sleep in one of the three first-floor bedrooms: a tranquil king-size bed, a soothing double and a 4’ double with wide windows.

On warm summer nights and bright mornings, spill out into the enclosed rear garden for tasty breakfasts and smoky BBQs; small children will be safe in both front and rear areas. Good position for visiting coast of north Norfolk. No view from the back of the property and is positioned in a small close where your only view is of cars with the associated properties.

This property is in a great location for exploring North Norfolk. The cottage was equipped well enough for our needs. I believe a bit of extra cleaning could have made the cottage a little less shabby looking. Beds were very comfortable.

We needed a relaxing and peaceful getaway after a very busy few months, and Woodcocks looked perfect - and it really was in reality. Set in a very quiet courtyard, off the main road, it was cosy and clean with extremely comfortable mattresses - something I am always anxious about when I go away! The location was perfect for visiting all along the nRead moreorth coast, and Brancaster beach close enough to drive to for an evening walk every day. We took our dogs but if your dogs like to sleep with you, this cottage isn't suitable as they are not allowed upstairs. The enclosed rear space was perfect for them to mooch around in and there were loads of walks nearby. We'd definitely stay again! And - the best fish and chips we'd had for years is right next door :-) Hide

The cottage was comfortable and close to everything we wanted to see. Beds are comfortable and well presented. There is a Spar shop close by, which has everything you need. The Railway Inn is in walking distance, however if you are not so good on your feet you may need to drive. Food is ok. There are lots of lovely places to eat if youre happy to Read moretravel, Hide

We had a lovely few days in the cottage. It's in a great location near some amazing beaches, a Spar local and a fish and chip shop. The patio at the back is very small and has no grassy bit. We just took the dogs to the grassy bits around the corner instead.

Lovely and clean. Great location with a dog friendly pub in the village and a chip shop literally around the corner. Bed really comfy with nice bedding and towels. Parking right outside the cottage in an extremely quiet cul de sac. Close to the areas we wanted to visit eg Holkham Hall.
