An enchanting holiday home, with a blend of striking, modern design and character touches, this tempting retreat is in an excellent setting within Southwold. Sleeping three guests, the two-bedroom bolthole, is just 150 metres from the promenade and seafront, where you can swim in the sea and bask on the sand. The town centre, with its superb array of independent shops and boutiques, as well as cafes, restaurants and pubs serving fresh, Suffolk produce, is less than 100 metres from the property. Also enjoy strolling down to the pier, 0.5 miles away, where you can wander out to sea, pause for afternoon tea, and see the moving water clock. The town’s putting green and boating lake are also down here.

Step into the property to find beautifully finished accommodation with lots of special touches. The tiled hallway has hooks for coats and leads through to an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with a vaulted ceiling and exposed brick feature wall. There is soft seating, where you can watch TV, listen to the radio or read your books. The chic kitchen area has ample space to store and prepare food and there is a table for dining beside bi-folding doors that can be opened on to the courtyard on warm days. Also at this level is a single bedroom and the family bathroom. Open stairs lead up to a king-size bedroom, where bi-folding doors can be pulled back on to the balcony.

There is a small courtyard to the front of the cottage and a balcony, with a glass balustrade, where you can dine outside at the table and chairs on warm, sunny days, at first-floor level.

A nicely equipped, recently built apartment, halfway between The Swan and The Nelson with parking. Behind The Little Fish & Chip Shop but we barely smelt it. The fixtures and fittings are top quality, especially the bathroom. Comfortable bed with a firm mattress.

A wonderful property. We have been to Southwold four times and this is the best place we have stayed in. Centrally located and an off-street parking space perfect! Would definitely recommend.

The Old Smokehouse was an excellent place to stay. Central for everything in Southwold. Very clean and well equipped. Bedding and towels were of excellent quality. We will definitely return.

Very impressed with the old smokehouse, we have pretty high standards when it comes to accommodation and we were very impressed, the property was extremely well equipped, everything you needed and more , they really have thought of everything, the welcome basket was a lovely and thoughtful touch, the property was located right in the middle of SRead moreouthwold, mins from pubs , shops , hotels , restaurants and the beach , but still very quiet, lovely to be woken by the sea gulls, thank you had an amazing holiday, recommend the lighthouse tour and the boat trips Hide

Excellent location, right by the beach steps by Suzies cafe and the Lord Nelson pub. A comfortable apartment to stay in Southwold with handy off street parking. Would recommend that the outside areas are given a thorough clean

I stayed in the Old Smokehouse with a friend for five nights. We found it an ideal place to stay to explore Southwold and the surrounding area. It was very clean and comfortable and in such a convenient location in the town just minutes from the sea front.

Excellent property in a central location but still peaceful within immediate reach of shops and the beach. Also with a parking space which sometimes a problem in Southwold.
