Raise the bar when you stay at this former coaching inn, which has now been converted into a delightful cottage. Sleeping six guests, the four-bedroom abode offers generous, character-filled accommodation and a courtyard for spring and summer dining. Lace up your walking boots and head 1.5 miles out of town to visit magnificent Blickling Hall, with its 4,600-acre parkland grounds and landscaped gardens. Head up to the coast and spend time in Cromer (11 miles) or Sheringham (13.5 miles), with their beaches, shops and eateries. Make a day trip to Norwich, 13 miles from the cottage, to explore the vibrant city, with its shopping areas, leisure facilities and historic sites, including the castle, cathedral, market and city walls.
Let yourselves in to discover beautiful rooms, with period features and splashes of colour in modern furnishings. Find you have a lounge, where you can light the wood burner then relax in front of the TV/DVD while it crackles away in the background. Listen to music in here too via the Hi-Fi. Members of your group might like to head through to the snug instead, where there is another TV for alternative viewing. Discover the kitchen has everything you need to help you prepare homecooked meals for your family or friends with the ingredients you have bought locally. This includes a double oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge and freezer. There is also a dishwasher to make cleaning up easy. Sit down to meals together in the dining room, where there is another wood burner, or out in the courtyard. Also downstairs is a WC. Venture upstairs to find two comfortable double bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room with shower cubicle and WC, and two singles. The family bathroom with an electric shower over the bath and WC is also up here.
Take your book and a cup of tea out into the courtyard during warm weather. There is an external, shared laundry room (with a washing machine) outside in the grounds too. Find you have covered parking for one car at the property, on a shared driveway.
