This captivating three-bedroom cottage has plenty to keep you entertained, with a large lawn and games room, and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside that Suffolk has to offer. Belchamp Otten is a pretty village located on the Suffolk/Essex border, one of three villages which make up The Belchamps, which also includes Belchamp Walter and Belchamp St Paul. This area is well known as the backdrop for the popular BBC series, Lovejoy. Situated to the south of the historic town of Clare, explore Clare Castle Country Park 4 miles away, featuring the remains of a Victorian railway station and castle keep on a motte overlooking the town. Sample a vintage atmosphere and take a ride on an award-winning steam train at Colne Valley Railway 6 miles away, and spot relocated station buildings, antique signal boxes and handsome bridges scattered along the line.

A small entrance porch welcomes you into the cottage and provides plenty of coat and boot storage. It leads through to the spacious living room, with three comfortable armchairs around a cosy wood burner and Smart TV. There is more seating in the snug room, with another Smart TV and a large sofa. The dining room comprises a traditional wooden dining table and chairs, leading through to the kitchen, kitted out with everything you may need to cater. The rear of the cottage opens out into a wonderful sunroom with a conservatory-style glass-pitched roof and picture windows, another large dining table set, and a sofa. You’ll also find a family bathroom on the ground floor. Upstairs, you’re met with three bedrooms, one king-size, one double and one single, all enjoying stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

Surrounding the property, you’ll find a well-maintained enclosed lawned garden, with a patio seating area for the perfect spot to admire the far-reaching views whilst dining alfresco. Outside, you also have access to the garage, which has been converted into a games room, with table tennis and a bar area for endless entertainment.

A very well-appointed cottage midway between two villages, but only a 10-15 min walk to either location, each with a pub! We managed to keep a three year old and a ten year old occupied for a week. The seaside is about one hour away. Clare has a lovely country park and there is plenty for adults to do. On returning to the cottage in the eveningRead mores, the games room and the garden were areas where the children could unwind and tire themselves out! Hide

This was our second stay at 2 Mill cottages. We love the house and the amenities, as well as the convenience of ample off road parking and scenic views across the meadows.

We had a fantastic stay at Mill Farm. Hosts were amazing and on hand if we needed anything. The cottage is beautifully remote and sitting in the garden you could look out across the fields not seeing another property. However a short walk across the fields took you to a wonderful pub with excellent food (Half Moon). An added bonus of the cottage wRead moreas the converted garage with darts and a ping pong table which the kids were in every day! Although remote, there were so many wonderful villages just a short drive away which kept us all entertained when we did want to venture out. Would highly recommend. Hide

Information leading up to the trip was excellent. The cottage was really well equipped and we appreciated the welcome gifts. Useful local area information in the cottage as well as games and the table tennis table was an added bonus!
