An attractive cottage in the tranquil village of Friston, this charming retreat is ideal for a family or a group of friends. Set in picturesque countryside, 4 miles from the coastal town of Aldeburgh, the three-bedroom abode is well positioned for anyone wishing to enjoy both the Suffolk countryside and the Heritage Coast. Find yourselves 4.5 miles from the unique seaside village of Thorpeness, developed in the early 20th century as an exclusive holiday destination and still retaining its very individual charm. Spend time at Snape Maltings, 3 miles away, with its spectrum of shops and eateries, as well as its famous concert hall. Visit Dunwich, 10 miles away, where a once thriving medieval port was swallowed by the sea.
Open the front door to the cottage and head through to the lounge/diner to unwind after each adventure. Watch TV in here, listen to music and lay a fire in the wood burner to light in the evening. Prepare meals in the generous kitchen, where there is a breakfast bar – it has all the equipment you need to help you. Make a cup of fresh coffee in the machine or pour yourself a glass of chilled water from the fridge too. Also downstairs are a family wet room and a handy boot room for coats and shoes. Make your way up the steep stairs, with narrow treads, to the family bathroom, which has an elegant, free-standing bath on a raised plinth, up a few steps. A twin bedroom, a double and a king-size room that’s accessed via two steps and with a TV and DVD player are also on the first floor.
Soak up the sunshine on the patio. Dine outside too, perhaps lighting the BBQ as you take in the superb country views. There is an outhouse here as well with a washing machine plus storage for any bikes.
