This charming two-storey cottage offers a tranquil base for a couple or small family in the heart of the market town of Kingsbridge. Located in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Kingsbridge sits at the tip of the Kingsbridge Estuary surrounded by rolling countryside. This bustling town boasts a number of quirky independent boutiques, antiques shops and galleries, along with numerous cafes, restaurants and tearooms serving local produce. Active holidaymakers will be delighted by the walking trails in the region including the South West Coast Path, and the opportunities for water activities such as sailing, kayaking and paddleboarding. Some of the region’s most beautiful beaches are within easy reach including Thurlestone Sands (5 miles), Bantham (5.5 miles) and Bigbury-on-Sea (9 miles), while the popular resort town of Salcombe is just 6.5 miles away.

This characterful two-bedroom cottage is warm and welcoming with its simple, contemporary decor complementing the original Victorian features. Enter the property straight into the light and bright living and dining room, with a selection of comfortable seating gathered around a wood burner and TV for cosy nights in. At the end of the room, a family dining table sits next to a picture window looking over the garden, and a door leads through to the characterful kitchen. Stairs lead up from the lounge to the first floor, where there are two elegant bedrooms both with ornamental fireplaces, and a family bathroom.

To the side of the cottage, there’s a pretty, enclosed, walled garden bordered by flowers and shrubs. An outdoor dining table on raised decking overlooking the neighbouring park, and bistro table and chairs allow you to make the most of warmer weather.

  • Smart TV that’s not connected to the mains so provides online streaming services only (you may need your own logins), DVD, Blu-ray
  • Please bring your own beach towels
  • Enclosed walled garden with decking, outdoor dining table, garden furniture and shrub borders
  • Parking in a public car park – no permit provided, but one can be purchased from the Tourist Information Centre, on-street parking also available
  • Shop just over 300 metres, pub 0.5 miles, beach 6 miles
  • There are 3 steps from the pathway leading to Patchwork Cottage onto the front path, and then another 5 steps up to the front door. There are 4 steps down from the front garden to access the back garden pathway leading to the Backdoor which then has a further 9 steps up to the raised decking area, therefore not suitable for guests with walking difficulties.

The cottage is really lovely. We were there in winter, so the heating was an important factor and we had no problems. The location is brilliant if you don't know the area as it's only 3 minutes walk through the back alleys to the shops on Fore Street. The Quay is also only 5 minutes away. If you have dogs, the cottage is dog-friendly and the park oRead moreutside the front door is perfect for short walks. All really excellent! Cottage needs to be updated. I really dont think a cracked wash hand basin is acceptable even if it has been glued and the water for the shower was just about warm . The location is good for town but to park in the car park is 7.00 a day and that is the closest you can get to the cottage .
