This detached house with plenty of space both indoors and out is homely and traditional, perfect for rural family breaks as it is surrounded by countryside yet near the coast. If you can pull yourself away from this lovely property, why not visit the nearby fishing village of Aberdaron (5.5 miles) where there’s a small beach, scenic views from the headland and a small National Trust manor house, Plas yn Rhiw? Poet RS Thomas formerly lived within the grounds. Further out, the popular seaside town of Abersoch (8 miles) offers a long, sandy beach lined with colourful huts and a town with restaurants to sample local fayre. Nefyn (8.5 miles) has a maritime museum and a unique, headland golf course that’s a must for golfing fans.

Pass through the ground-floor entrance hall into the property’s welcoming lounge where three leather sofas face a cosy electric fire. Stuffed with home comforts, and with glass doors to the patio offering views of the garden, it’s a great place to relax together. The ground floor boasts a separate sitting room with three further leather sofas, more sliding doors giving access to the patio as well as plenty of family entertainment in the form of board games or a large TV. More fun can be had in the games room where you can challenge each other to a few frames on the full-sized snooker table. The kitchen is a large rustic space with oak-framed units, an impressive range cooker and several dual aspect windows making this a light and bright space. Guests can relax at the breakfast bar with four stools or the oak dining table with eight chairs. The ground floor also has a handy utility area with a washing machine and tumble dryer and a bathroom with a bath and separate shower. Ground-floor bedrooms include a twin with divan beds and garden views and a master bedroom that boasts a king-size bed with lovely views across the front garden and out towards the sea. Head upstairs to find three more bedrooms: a king-size with divan bed and countryside views; a double with divan bed and Velux window; and a double with divan bed and countryside views. All of the bedrooms are cosy and homely with plenty of space. The house is completed with the bathroom with feature tiling. There’s a bath for soaking and a large, separate shower.

Another property highlight is the generous, private outdoor space including large lawns with swings that the children will love. Llecyn is a lovely house and perfect to get away from it all. The rooms are very comfy, the kitchen is very well equipped and the lounges are roomy and comfortable. The snooker room is excellent and the table is good. Hot tub is also nice. The location is ideal. 8 minutes into Aberdaron. the beech is sandy and large when the tide is out and the Read morecliff walks from the beech are very nice (lots of up and down the cliffs). The Gwesty T Newydd does good food and good beer and has a terrace looking over the beech, 1st come basis for seats and dogs allowed on the terrace and the front room. Hells Mouth is also well worth a visit, park in Porth Neigwl car park and an easy 5 minute walk down to the beech. The Sun pub (Robinsons) in Llanengan is also well worth a visit on the way back... roads are narrow though. The Rivals (Yr Eifl) is a good challenging walk, we did it in the fog and rain so didn't get the views but still nice, some steep sections and minor scrambles. All in all a very good place to relax walk swim and explore this part of wales. Hide
