This contemporary first-floor apartment is perfect for a small family or couples’ getaway by the seaside. Situated on a residential street, the apartment is in a block of three that enjoy views over St Edmund’s Green to the church and the town’s landmark lighthouse beyond. Southwold is a traditional seaside town and guests will enjoy strolling along the seafront and discovering the retro amusements on the pier. There is also a long sandy beach backed by pretty painted beach huts close to ice cream parlours. With a good range of shops and galleries to browse, it is a lovely town to wander through, perhaps stopping for coffee and cake along the way. It is also home to Adnams Brewery, so there are plentiful pubs to settle into for a pint, as well as ample restaurants and bars. The Suffolk Heritage Coast stretches off in both directions offering many opportunities for walking and sightseeing. The neighbouring village of Walberswick is particularly popular with its sandy beach and postcard-perfect village green. In summer, visitors can catch a foot passenger ferry to this village.

The apartment is accessed via a flight of steps and has a bright and modern open-plan living space. A large bay window lets in plenty of natural light and offers views across the pretty town green to the church and lighthouse. Sofas and easy chairs are arranged close to the window to make the most of the views. The compact kitchen also features a large window and there’s a dining table adjacent where the group can gather for meals. The guest bedrooms are spacious and bright with comfortable beds and welcoming decor. The master bedroom is king-size and has an en-suite bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower and a WC. The second bedroom is a twin room and there is a further bathroom with a waterfall shower over a bath and a WC.

The sheltered outside courtyard is shared with the residents in the other two apartments in the building. It is fully enclosed with wooden fences and features several raised flower beds and a garden table and chairs for enjoying outside dining or drinks.

A lovely size property close to Southwold's facilities. Spacious, welcoming, bed linen spotless. Small points but have been mentioned previously by other guests; 1 tea towel is not enough. No dishwasher tablets available, had to be bought.

Lovely, comfortable, flat in brilliantly convenient position for the town and beach. Southwold is such a pretty, quaint little town.
