You couldnt find a more beautiful view anywhere in Cornwall . We had the best time sitting on our patio watching the comings and goings in the harbour below. Already booked for next year.

The location is fantastic, right on the harbour with excellent views, and with the convenience of parking on the side of the harbour below. The 30 steps up to the cottage would be tricky for the elderly, but that extra elevation made the views better. The level of equipment is great, better than anticipated. The property is looking very tired throughout, sad to see what was once a lovely property so neglected. The upstairs bedrooms are very musty despite the dehumidifiers provided. The outside furniture is very poor, only 4 usable chairs for a family of 6. Kitchen well equipped, location great, and good towels provided but not many other plus points. Great stay, beautiful view. We have stayed many of times in Porthleven and this has got to be one of our favourite cottages. Having a morning coffee to a evening wine on the front watching the waves was one of our favourite parts of this stay. Thank you, The Gilbert's

I am not sure where to put this comment: We had a lovely time thank you but there were a few issues. The house itself is lovely, situated with great views over the harbour and excellent facilities. However the following (In order of importance) detracted from us fully enjoying ourselves. 1. The third bedroom, at the back of the house, had bRead morelack mould on the wall at and smelt very musty. We could not use it as a bedroom for an 11 week child, let alone an adult. 2. There was no outside light to the property. We arrived in the dark and found it difficult to negotiate the uneven steps up to, and down from, the property when unloading the cars. 3. The was washer drier did not dry meaning we had to dry clothes on radiators. 4. There really should be somewhere on the property to put recycling. I have never stayed in a property where I have been responsible for taking our recycling to a recycling centre, which I couldn't find. As I said apart from the above, the holiday was great but immediate attention should be given to Points 1 to 3 above for the benefit of future guests. As for recommendation to other people, if the issues mentioned were dealt with. Then I would. Paul Mullan Hide

Porthleven is a lovely fishing harbour, great places to eat out. The Anson is in a good location, many hours spent relaxing on the terrace watching comings and goings.

The property wasnt 5 star a few faults.. eg wobbly toilet seat, shower that tended to over flow ( poor drainage, kept having to use plunger). Looks a little tired in places generally. The double bed however was extremely comfortable! Slept really well. Great location too.

The Anson was a fabulous location with views across the harbour and out to sea. Inside, it was beautifully decorated making it a perfect family holiday home. Well equipped and centrally located, we would certainly stay there again.
