Soak up the quaint Cornish charm of St Ives in this characterful cottage. The property sleeps four adults and two children and is ideal for family reunions and holidays with friends. Set right in the centre of St Ives’ Downalong area (the oldest part of the town), you’ll be surrounded by cute, whitewashed cottages and cobbled streets, as well as a great selection of independent boutiques and galleries. The area backs onto the picturesque harbour, where you’ll find a fantastic range of restaurants, many serving fresh seafood and local delicacies. This is a beautiful spot to come and relax at the end of the afternoon, as the fishing boats return, and the water reflects the colours of one of St Ives’ iconic sunsets. You’ll be spoilt when it comes to beaches, with four main stretches of sand within easy walking distance of the town centre. Porthminster (0.5 miles) is particularly popular with families, thanks to its soft, golden sand and sheltered waters, making it perfect for sandcastle building and bathing.

This beautiful stone cottage is accessed via a few steps and is set across three levels. It carefully combines contemporary design with fabulous original features, to create a truly unique backdrop to your holiday. The ground-floor, open-plan living area features stunning exposed stonework, alongside chic furniture and vibrant accessories, providing a warm and welcoming space in which to unwind at the end of the day. Recline on the sofa to watch a film on the TV/DVD, curl up in the armchair with a good book, or come together around the dining table for evenings of great food and laughter. Completing the ground floor is the kitchen area, which has everything you need to rustle up a tasty meal for the group. Heading upstairs, discover two calm and relaxing double bedrooms, one of which has lovely views towards the lighthouse. The family bathroom is also located on this level. The final bedroom – a twin - is set in the eaves on the second floor and boasts delightful views across St Ives Bay. Due to the restricted head height in this room, this bedroom is only suitable for children.

There is a small courtyard to the front of the property with a bistro set, where you can sit with a morning coffee before setting off for a day of adventure.

  • 3 bedrooms – 2 doubles, 1 twin (suitable for children only)

This is a great cottage in a very convenient spot in St Ives. It is close to the town centre but is away from all the noise. it is close to porthgwidden beach as well as the harbour beach. It is very convenient for the island car park (be sure to book your stay on line in advance). It has the right amount of kitchen appliances. The cottage needs has potential to be very nice but is a bit tired. Whilst it was very clean, it would benefit from some tlc. However, the location superb and we had a great time.

Nice cottage but a bit tired . Great location though. Bathroom needs updating. Rust around Bath plug hole, dirty mark on front of toilet and rusty radiator. Our bed had the central support missing which meant it creaked loudly and sagged in the middle. Neither bedroom door had a latch so wouldnt close properly. Some windows wouldnt open which was aRead more nuisance when cooking. Hide

Booked for the location near Porthgwidden Beach. Kitchen could do with some sharper knives and a family sized saucepan, and a bit of washing line outside would be handy, but otherwise very, very happy with this property and will book again.
