St Ives’ beautiful coastal location, warm climate and charming jumble of fishing lanes has long cast a spell over holidaymakers and artists alike, and guests of this property will find themselves in the artistic and historic centre of town. This period cottage is happily situated right beside the St Ives Society of Artists, and just a few minutes’ walk from the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. Numerous independent galleries offer a warm welcome too, and a saunter around the winding streets will reveal endless lovely cafes, bars, bistros and restaurants. Away from the town, a circuit of the Island peninsula rewards walkers with fabulous views out over St Ives Bay, and possibly a sighting or two of seals and dolphins.
Situated in St Ives’ old fishing quarter, this charming four-storey cottage is generously appointed, providing guests with home-from-home comforts. From the street, guests step straight into a bright, dual-aspect lounge/kitchen/diner encompassing a cosy sofa area with an attractive wood burner-effect electric fire, a smart fitted kitchen and a good-sized dining table and chairs. From here, stairs lead down to basement level where there’s a second lounge area and a shower room with WC. On this floor, a door leads out onto a private lane, and then onwards to the pretty, cobbled Baileys Lane. The first floor of the property is reached via a staircase from the kitchen/diner area. Here, you’ll find a twin bedroom and an attractive family bathroom. A narrow staircase leads up to the second floor, where there’s a spacious king-size bedroom and a contemporary en-suite shower room enjoying rooftop views over the town and a tantalising glimpse of the sea.
With the Town Beach and harbour just minutes away, guests will find it hard to resist an evening amble before bed, taking in the sights and sounds of this ever-popular Cornish town.
