Part of a converted Victorian house, this top-floor apartment makes a wonderful couples’ bolthole within easy reach of the beaches and attractions of St Ives. This popular Cornish destination suits a variety of tastes. With four main beaches and a number of smaller coves, beach lovers are spoilt for choice, while hikers can lace up their boots and strike out along gorgeous coastal trails. The town has plenty of narrow lanes to amble around, discovering independent shops and quaint tearooms, and a multitude of eating options from humble fish and chip shops to award-winning seafood restaurants. Art lovers are well catered for too, with the Tate St Ives and Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden. Alternatively, head out of town to visit the castle-topped St Michael’s Mount (9 miles) or experience the mesmerising natural landscape at Land’s End (19 miles).

This is a cosy apartment with large windows, giving it a light and airy feeling throughout and offering wonderful views. The hallway has convenient storage under the eaves and leads through into an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The galley kitchen occupies one end of the room, while the lounge and dining area are thoughtfully arranged to make the most of the views from the picture window. Down the hallway, there’s a comfortable bedroom offering more superb views, and an en-suite shower room.

While the property has no outside space, the beaches and harbour of St Ives are nearby.

This is a basic apartment in a good location in St Ives with a parking space, which made it convenient for our holiday. We appreciated the sea views from the main room. It is at the top of two steep flights of stairs in a residential building and doesnt feel so much like a holiday home. We had a few issues with the shower drain not working and OriRead moreginal Cottages were good at sending contractors out to fix this, I wish we had notified you sooner! Hide

The property is located in a very hilly area of St Ives with very steep hills leading to both Porthmeir beach and the town/harbour area. The property itself is at the top of the house and is also accessed by narrow and steep steps, potentially making it unsuitable for people with mobility/joint problems. The car parking area needs improvement, and Read morewe found it difficult to access and exit from. Hide

Enjoyed my stay in the flat. It's well equipped, light, airy and clean and has a comfortable bed. Good value for a solo traveller.

Very basic and in need of maintenance and refurbishment, but it was at least clean. The location in StIves is a significant draw but the shortcomings of the property meant that, for me at any rate, this was poor value. All round, a rather sad testament to what the tourist industry has done to beautiful places like StIves.
