This attractive ground-floor apartment is perfect for a group of friends or a small family to enjoy all of the charms of St Ives. Tucked away off of the main thoroughfare, this home feels quiet and calm but enjoys a very central location. St Ives is a bustling seaside town with a picturesque harbour and winding cobbled streets. It has a vibrant atmosphere with all sorts of great places to eat, drink and shop. It is also a very arts-orientated town with many independent galleries and craft shops dotted around its colourful streets. It’s home to some big-hitters in the art world too, with the Tate St Ives on the waterfront along with the wonderful Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. Visitors can enjoy boat trips from the harbour as well as long summer days on the town’s fine beaches. It has several swathes of golden sands to enjoy, including Porthminster Beach, the little cove of Porthgwidden and Porthmear Beach. The latter is known for its surfing credentials, so beginner and intermediate surfers might like to bring their boogie boards or hire surfboards in town and dive in.

The ground-floor flat is approached via a tarmacked path off of the street and then four steps up into the owner’s walled courtyard. There are a further couple of steps up to enter the building and then all of the accommodation is on one level. Guests will enter a pleasing open-plan area with plenty of space and a well-thought-out layout. To one end is a sleek, compact kitchen with a breakfast bar for two. The dining table is positioned in front of a large window overlooking the courtyard. A sofa and easy chairs complete this well-appointed space. There are two comfortable bedrooms. One is a double and the second has a bunk bed with a double bed at the bottom and a single bed above that would be suitable for a child. Both rooms share the use of the family bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The walled courtyard outside of the front door is shared with the owner of the property and another apartment. This is a tranquil spot with large potted plants and bench seating. There is also a lockable store under the steps to another flat where guests can store their beach gear if desired.

Perfectly located right in the middle of St Ives, my wife is registered disabled so walks with a stick & we were able to explore the whole town during our weeks stay. The property had everything we needed to enjoy our holiday.

Quite tired and dated in living area and kitchen, but the bedrooms and bathroom had been refurbished and okay. Small overall for a family. Noise from the above apartment was intrusive due to footfall, cupboards and doors on hardwood floors and also frequently barking dog next door. Would not return Im afraid.

The location of the property was perfect for us, however the facilities let us down throughout the week as they stopped working.
