This cottage is perfect for a coastal stay right in the heart of St Ives, and could also suit a pair of friends holidaying together. It is located in the very centre of the picturesque town of St Ives on one of the narrow streets close to the harbour. It is also midway between two of the town’s glorious sandy beaches, the tiny Porthgwidden Beach and the larger Porthmear Beach. Water babies will be in their element here, with a beach for every occasion, be it swimming, sand castle building or surfing. Dotted around the winding cobbled streets of the town visitors will find a great selection of independent art galleries and interesting boutiques. It’s a wonderful town for meandering through, perhaps stopping to look at an art exhibition, browse the gift shops or pick up a tasty Cornish pasty to tuck into on the waterfront. Both the Tate St Ives and the stunning Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden are must-sees. Come the evening there are plenty of fantastic restaurants to choose between, many serving up fresh local seafood caught along Cornwall’s gleaming coast.
The cottage is set across two floors on the first and second floors of a traditional fishermen’s cottage. To reach the front door visitors climb a flight of ten stone steps with a handrail to one side. Once inside there are two compact living spaces. The lounge with its sofa, hideaway bed and TV has a set of folding doors enabling it to be closed off from the adjoining living area to become a second bedroom. The kitchen is galley style with a dining area next to it and an additional sofa and TV. The sofa in this room is tucked underneath a steep flight of stairs leading to the upstairs space. Here guests will find the bedroom with a double bed and a folding single bed. The bathroom features a walk-in shower and rooftop views from the large window.
Whilst there is no outside space, the delights of St Ives are all around you so you can enjoy getting out and about easily and take strolls through the streets or on the beaches.
