This duplex apartment arranged over the second and third floors is ideal for a family or group of friends to enjoy a seaside holiday together. It is located right in front of the old slipway leading down to Harbour Beach, so you are well and truly in the heart of St Ives here. The beach, along with a great array of shops, cafes and restaurants are all within a hundred metres or so. St Ives is known for its artistic life and has been a hub of the arts for many decades. The Tate St Ives on the waterfront and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden are well worth a visit. But there are also many independent galleries and craft shops to explore dotted around the town’s pretty cobbled streets. As well as art, fishing has very much been a mainstay of the town and there are charming fishermen’s cottages lining the streets and a fascinating nautical past to discover. The town also boasts not one, but four gorgeous beaches. So whether you favour rock pooling, sunbathing or surfing, there will be a beach to suit you. When it comes to wining and dining, St Ives has plenty to offer, with seafood featuring highly on the menu, of course.
The apartment is laid out across two storeys on the second and third floors of a terraced building, above a ice cream shop on the waterfront. There are three steps up to the porch and then inside a flight of steps with a turn takes you to the first floor and then up to the second floor. Once inside, guests will find a welcoming open-plan living space flooded with light from the large windows. A wooden frame, in keeping with the exposed beams, partially separates the living and dining areas. The large bay window in the comfortable lounge has a curved window seat where guests can perch and enjoy the ocean views. The large dining table is set up to make the most of the views from the other window. The compact kitchen is to the rear and equipped with all you need for rustling up a family feast. The family bathroom is also on this level with a large walk-in shower. Upstairs are the three guest bedrooms. These are a large double with a dormer window taking in the views, a further double and a twin room with one raised bed ideal for children. The two smaller rooms have some restricted head height as they are built in the eaves.
Whilst there is no outside space, you are just metres from the lovely seaside town with its charming, cobbled streets and beaches.
