A traditional Cornish cottage set in the picturesque St Ives, this delightful abode makes a great base for enjoying the best of the harbour town. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom retreat is situated in Downalong, known for its quaint streets and proximity to the dramatic headland of the Island. From the cottage, stroll 150 metres over to the Island to pick up the scenic South West Coast Path, or venture the same distance to the beaches at Porthgwidden or Bamaluz. Peruse the many independent shops, galleries and boutiques of the town and visit the famous Tate Gallery. The Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden is also well worth a visit. Also book a sea safari to see seals and dolphins.
Pull up opposite the cottage to unload then park in the nearby Island Car Park. Let yourselves in via the stable door and a porch, with access to a WC. Head on into the lounge to unwind after your latest adventure, perhaps in front of your favourite programme on TV. Make your way through to the impressive, light-filled kitchen/diner to unpack the provisions you have bought locally and prepare dinner for your party to enjoy at the table. Also downstairs, is the modern family bathroom. Wooden stairs, with stairgates at the top and bottom, lead up to the first floor, where there is a double bedroom and a twin.
There is a door from the kitchen/diner on to a small yard which is useful storage for beach gear.
