This well-laid-out holiday home is ideal for a large group of family and friends to enjoy a relaxed holiday together. It is located in the village of Braunton just 3 miles from North Devon’s stunning ‘Golden Coast’. The village has a good range of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants to enjoy, as well as the Museum of British Surfing. In addition, it is well known for its huge dunes at Braunton Burrows, which are designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and stretch to the coast. For bucket and spade days head to the golden sands at Saunton 3 miles away. Saunton Sands is popular with families, as well as beginner and intermediate surfers, and at 3 miles long there’s plenty of space for everyone. There are some good beachside cafes and shops here for topping up on snacks, drinks and ice creams without having to leave the beach. For an alternative beach destination head to Woolacombe 6.5 miles away or continue on another mile to the historic village of Mortehoe. There is a great maritime museum here and it’s a good place to embark on a dramatic cliff-top coastal walk. The larger town of Ilfracombe is 8 miles from Braunton in the same direction. This bustling harbour town has lots to keep you occupied on a day trip. Alternatively, just enjoy the quiet delights of your holiday home and village and explore country walks directly from your front door.
The detached village house is laid out with the living area on the upper floor and the bedrooms below. This is to take full advantage of the far-reaching views across the village and onto the coast in the far distance. The large lounge has patio doors taking in the view and leading out onto the balcony. It is also fitted with a wood burner for cosy nights. The open-plan kitchen/diner has triple aspect windows, also enjoying the view over the valley towards the sea. There is a bathroom with a shower cubicle on the upper floor. On the ground floor, you will find three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, TV and large glass doors opening onto a patio. There are two further twin bedrooms, one with a zip-and-link bed that can be converted into a king-size bed upon request. The downstairs bathroom has a walk-in shower.
Outside there is a selection of different spaces for the whole group to enjoy. The upstairs balcony complete with an outdoor dining table and chairs is the star of the show. This is where the whole family can gather around for al fresco meals and sensational views. The downstairs patio is accessed from the master bedroom and also features outside seating. From there a path leads on to a fully enclosed fenced-in pebbled area with further seating. There is an integral garage perfect for storing bikes, boogie boards and boots. This also houses a utility area.
