Alternatively, the National Trust Wray Castle is 2.5 miles away, Hill Top which was the former home of Beatrix Potter is 6 miles away, and Skelwith Force hiking area is 2 miles away. Rydal Water and Coniston are 3 and 7 miles away respectively and well worth a visit.
