Property code: OC-BEACHH

This spacious detached home is ideal for a large group of family or friends looking for a coastal getaway. It is situated on a quiet residential street in Woolacombe but is only a few hundred metres from the bustling town centre and the coast. This makes it perfect for car-free days at the beach or mooching around town. The award-winning beach at Woolacombe stretches for 3 miles between Morte Point and Baggy Point. This golden stretch of sand is highly acclaimed for its cleanliness and safety, as well as its beauty. It is popular with all types of beachgoers: swimmers, sandcastle builders or sunbathers. It is also a renowned spot for beginner and intermediate surfers with gentle waves rolling in and lifeguards on hand throughout the summer. The village itself has a good range of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants to keep everyone well fed and entertained. Walkers should head to the little village of Mortehoe 1-mile along the coast. From there they can join the dramatic North Devon Coastal Path and set out across the cliff tops. The village also has an interesting maritime museum and tearooms. Further afield is the historic harbour town of Ilfracombe 6 miles east. This larger town has much to occupy day-tripping visitors with its pretty harbour, Victorian Tunnels Beaches and plenty of great eateries.

Upon entering the house you will be struck by the ample spaces for your group to relax and socialise. There are two comfortable living rooms, one with French doors opening out onto the patio area and accompanying views. The second living room is a little snugger with a wood burner to fire up on those cooler evenings. An open-plan kitchen/diner has all you need for cooking up a Devonshire feast and dining together. Downstairs also incorporates a large games room complete with a TV, dartboard and 3-in-1 table tennis, air hockey and pool table. There is a handy downstairs wet room with WC and a utility space. Upstairs you will find the three plush bedrooms all with TVs and en-suite bathrooms. Bedroom one is a super-king zip-and-link bed, which can be configured as a twin if requested in advance. This room features an en-suite bathroom with a spa bath incorporating a side and overhead shower. The second bedroom is double with an en-suite shower room and the third is a twin room, but also has a zip-and-link bed that can be configured as a super-king upon request. This room has an en-suite shower room and also access to a large balcony. There is an additional bathroom upstairs with a bath for long soaks.

Outside the grounds are spacious with paved patios and lawns surrounding the house. The garden is fully fenced in and the elevated patio with garden furniture and BBQ provides a great spot to soak up the distant sea views. This is a great space for al fresco dining and basking in the Devon sunshine. The wide upstairs balcony opening from the third bedroom features reclining chairs that are ideal for quiet contemplation, relaxed reading or sipping a sundowner and gazing at the view.

Great location, although the drive is steeper than the photograph would lead you to believe. Comfortable accommodation and well furnished. A short walk to great 'eateries' is a bonus if you want to stay local.

We were very impressed with the house. The accommodation was perfect for our long weekend away with five adults. The house is finished to a high standard with plenty of space. We particularly liked the sun room and because the trees had not yet come out we had an uninterrupted view across to the sea. In the summer the roof terrace would be a niRead morece place to sit. The house was very well equipped with everything we needed. The house was very conveniently situated for Woolacombe and the beach. We ate at The Tides Inn a few hundred yards down the road where the staff were friendly and the food was very good. Hide

Beach House is well located, only a short walk down to Woolacombe and the beach. The property is furnished and kitted out to a high specification, the beds in particular are comfortable. Only missing a soft broom and oven gloves. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Dishwasher- the Filter and spray arms were filthy and needed cleaning. Had to do the first initial was 3 times, what was in there still wasnt clean, so for the reat of the holiday we washed everything by hand- it needs a deep clean The remote control in the second bedroom didnt work- couldnt change batteries as a screw has been added onto the backRead more of the device. Glass board in the kitchen is missing a foot on the back, so rocks when trying to use it Only other cutting board was a wooden board, more boards would be useful i.e for meat The recycle bins are very small so get full quickly but then only provided with 3 more bin bag, not enough for a family of 6 to use in a week. BBQ grill was very dirty- we brought a new BBQ so that we could enjoy the garden in the sun. Parosol didnt fit into the base weight so had to be balance on the patio at an angle (not very secure in the wind) also it doesnt lock into place so the parasol falls down freqently. Only 1 roll per toilet provided Welcome pack- very basic and not what you would expect from a 'luxury' house Light outside gamesroom worked intermittently- flickers on and off and not very safe with 5 steps to get to it. The drawers ans inside rim of the Washing Machine is mouldy- needs a deep clean. Hide
