Situated on the grounds of the magnificent 25,000-acre Holkham Estate, this location makes for a truly special holiday. Within the grounds, there’s a beautiful sandy beach (4 miles), a deer park, a pristine walled garden, a restaurant serving produce from the estate, cafes, a large nature reserve with tidal saltmarshes and, of course, the great Holkham Hall. It’s an excellent base for long romantic strolls, beach days and bird watching. Try some local wine from the shops at Holkham village (3 miles) or browse the sculptures at the Holkham Classic Sculptures shop (3.5 miles).
Entering this quirky lodge, you’ll be delighted to see that the inside is just as wonderful as the exterior. The first thing you’ll notice is the cosy sitting area with a pretty, exposed brick fireplace with a wood burner, a wooden beamed ceiling, a leather chesterfield sofa and a TV. Behind the sitting area is the dining table and kitchen area which is equipped with an electric oven, hob kettle, toaster, microwave and a fridge/freezer. It’s ideal for those who want to enjoy breakfast in bed. Walking over to the corner of the room, you’ll discover a mysterious staircase leading down to a subterranean level where there’s an incredible atrium with a large skylight which is perfect for stargazing at night. There are three vaulted cellars here which have been converted into a snug, which is an intimate space with a TV, a bedroom and a bathroom. The bedroom boasts a super-king-size bed underneath a romantic, arched ceiling. Unwind with a bubble bath in the bathroom. Please be aware there are sloped ceilings and a steep staircase in this holiday lodge.
Outside the property is a pretty lawned garden area, and you're surrounded by the beautiful parkland of the Holkham Estate.
