This charming coastal bolthole for two enjoys a fantastic location, just off the main high street in Southwold. As a result, you’ll have an excellent range of shops and eateries on your doorstep, as well as a selection of traditional cosy pubs. A short 300-metre stroll will bring you to the town’s sandy beach, where you can hire one of the colourful beach huts for the full seaside experience and take a little paddle in the sea. There are some fascinating attractions in the town that are well worth exploring during your stay, including the much-loved 19th-century lighthouse where you can take a tour and climb to the very top to enjoy far-reaching views along the coast. The Minsmere Nature Reserve (12 miles) makes a lovely, relaxing day out. Take a walk around the tranquil wetlands and through the woods and look out for a wide range of wildlife, including otters, avocets, and bitterns. There’s also a fabulous cafe that serves delicious local produce.
The quaint cottage is bursting with character, with original latch doors and exposed beams throughout the property. The cottage is warm and inviting, thanks to the AGA in the kitchen, and is full of creature comforts to make you feel at home during your stay. A subtle nautical theme runs through each room, with little seaside knick-knacks on the shelves and beautiful coastal artwork on the walls. On the ground floor, you’ll find the lounge/diner with a comfortable sofa to snuggle up on to watch the TV/DVD and a cute table and chairs for two to share romantic dinners together. A small kitchen is also on this floor, which has been carefully configured to include everything you need to create tasty meals and snacks. Cottage-style stairs lead to the first floor and the pretty double bedroom, which again adopts a charming seaside theme. Completing the property is a stylish bathroom.
To the rear of the cottage, you’ll find a small, shared courtyard.
