When you’re not busy visiting the feathered residents at Edgefield’s duck pond, you can drive into the lovely Georgian town of Holt (4 miles) to browse the art galleries, antique stores and book shops. You’re sure to find a great spot for lunch down one of the town’s charming alleyways. Alternatively, head to the traditional seaside resort of Cromer (13.5 miles) to take a stroll on the beach and catch a show on the historic pleasure pier; or make a beeline for Fakenham (12.5 miles) to enjoy all the excitement of a day at the races. Head to Happisburgh (23 miles) to visit its striking red and white-striped lighthouse, or to Blakeney Point (10 miles) to see the seal colony.

Boasting home comforts in abundance, this spacious home is a delight to discover. Step inside and you’ll be immediately charmed by the large social hub of the house: the open-plan kitchen/dining/seating area. With its double-height ceiling and exposed beams, it’s the ideal place for entertaining. Whip up a meal for your loved ones in the kitchen area. With an electric cooker, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, hosting is an absolute breeze. Serve your culinary masterpiece at the large central breakfast bar, before heading to the sitting area to settle down on a sofa and switching on the Smart TV with Freesat. Or simply pour yourself a glass of wine and take in the views from the double doors through to the courtyard garden. Completing the ground-floor layout is a chic twin bedroom and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC. A few steps up from the ground floor takes you to the second bedroom, a king-size room with an en-suite with shower and WC. This lovely room also boasts doors that open out onto a private courtyard – the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee. An additional mezzanine floor features a lovely snug with a Smart TV. If you’re bringing the kids with you, they’ll love having their own space at the top of the house.

Outside there’s a lovely courtyard that’s shared with the neighbouring property. You also have access to a large, shared garden that overlooks farmland. Step outside from the double bedroom and you’ll discover a private courtyard with a small bistro table and two chairs. Off-road parking is available for two cars.

Turnip cottage is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the Norfolk countryside. It definitely is worth a visit. The view of the horses each morning was a bonus. I would happily live there!

We enjoyed our stay at The Turnip House. It was very comfortable, well equipped and in a quiet and peaceful setting. The layout suited us fine travelling as a couple but guests with children should be made aware that the bedrooms are at opposite ends of the cottage and that there is a short flight of stairs to the main bedroom. This would be usefulRead more information for disabled guests too. Ros & Stuart. Hide

One of the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. Spacious and comfortable, excellent parking in a peaceful setting. Great location for coast and local National Trust properties. We will definitely return.

The property is lovely, situated down a country lane next to a farm. It is modern and very well equipped. We had horses and chickens in the field next to us which added to the rural feeling. The village is small but worth exploring and for shopping, Holt isn't far away.

We took our daughter 4 month old grand daughter to stay for a week in the Turnip House. We were very happy and comfortable. We enjoyed the modernity, the spaciousness, the central heating, the lots of parking, the country location with facilities close by in Holt etc. Minimal phone signal but decent wi-fi. We would stay there again.
