This detached bungalow is ideal for a small family or group of friends looking for a relaxed beach holiday in North Devon. It is set within the seaside village of Croyde with its beautiful horseshoe-shaped bay 400 metres or so from the property. This is the place to come for golden sands and rolling waves. It is a popular beach for surfing and beginners and intermediates alike can take a lesson or rent boards and have a go. The surf is generally gentle and the coast here is watched over by lifeguards throughout the summer months. The village itself is small and friendly with several great pubs, shops and restaurants. Walkers can head up to the cliff top Baggy Point owned and managed by the National Trust. The dramatic North Devon Coastal Path passes through here and there are wonderful views. On either side of Croyde, there are many other fabulous beaches to discover. Saunton Beach is just 2.5 miles to the west while beyond Baggy Point you’ll see the award-winning Woolacombe Beach stretching out. The village of Woolacombe is at the far end of this 3-mile stretch of golden sands about 5 miles from Croyde. This slightly larger village has a great range of independent shops and eateries to discover.
The homely bungalow is light-filled and comfortable with plenty of space for a family of four and a four-legged friend. The long, open-plan living area has a large window at one end and bi-fold patio door at the other. This means that it always feels bright and airy. The comfortable lounge area with ample seating is to the front, while the kitchen/diner is to the rear where the patio doors open to the garden. The master bedroom features a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room and the twin bedroom has use of the main shower room.
Outside there is also plenty of space, with a large driveway and an integral garage that can be used to park your car or as storage space for bikes, boards and beach gear. The private back garden is fully enclosed by high fencing and dotted with trees and shrubs. There is a large lawn and a patio area complete with table and chairs positioned just outside the patio doors to the kitchen. This makes it ideal for eating and drinking alfresco and is a lovely relaxed space to spend long summer days. There is also a useful outside shower for rinsing off sandy beachgoers before entering the house.
