This detached cottage is believed to date back to the 1600s and is ideally located to explore all that Suffolk has to offer, from coast to countryside. Wangford has friendly pubs, a well-stocked village shop and a beautiful church that can be seen from the cottage (hence the name). Southwold is just 3 miles away for days at the seaside and can be easily reached using the regular bus service that runs from the village. Minismere Nature Reserve is 10 miles away and includes networks of wonderful walks and a tearoom. The picturesque seaside town of Aldeburgh is 16 miles.
The cottage retains original features such as timber beams and an inglenook fireplace. An entrance hall has space for coats and shoes and timber stairs to the first floor. There are two lounges downstairs – one with a wood burner and a large window looking out onto the street, and a family room/snug that has been set up with children in mind and includes a TV and DVD. The garden room features a breakfast bar with two stools and bi-fold doors leading outside. The contemporary kitchen overlooks the garden, and the dining area includes antique chairs and original church pews with cushions. A shower room is also on the ground floor. A steep timber cottage staircase leads up to the first floor, head up the twist in the staircase to a twin bedroom and family bathroom or continue straight up to a spacious king-size bedroom and a double bedroom with a wrought iron bed.
A paved garden includes mature plants and climbers as well as garden furniture and a BBQ.
