This bright and welcoming cottage is one of the few properties in the village that enjoys uninterrupted views of the Northumberland coastline. It’s ideally set up for small families, friends or groups with special interests like golf or birdwatching, all of which are easily accessible. The 62-mile-long Northumberland Coastal Path (which runs past the bungalow) takes walkers and their dogs to the likes of Bamburgh (5 miles) and Craster (9.5 miles). The picturesque market town of Alnwick, home to a stunning 11th-century castle, is just 14.5 miles away. Guests who prefer water sports to walking should head straight to Beadnell Bay (0.5 miles).
Inside, the open-plan lounge/diner is a homely space whose stripped wooden floors are filled with inviting seating arranged around a coffee table and wood burner – it’s the perfect spot to relax after days out on the Northumberland coast. There is also an antique dining table, sideboard and dresser on the opposite side of a pine staircase with open tread steps, adding much character. The small kitchen benefits from a utility room and plenty of natural light which pours in from the garden. The first floor is home to a king-size bedroom with a wash basin and a twin bedroom with a wash basin, both enjoying sea views. A family bathroom completes the accommodation.
An unenclosed garden with grass and shrubbery sits to the front of the cottage, while the enclosed pebble and sleeper landscaped garden to the rear - a real afternoon suntrap - features garden furniture surrounded by hedges and shrubbery.
