Head to the harbour (1.5 miles away) to book a boat trip to the incredible Farne Islands to witness the abundant wildlife, where you’ll get the chance to see seabirds, seals, and maybe even dolphins. Back on dry land, you can explore the coastline on foot on the 6-mile return beach walk to Bamburgh, with its impressive castle – the seat of the ancient kings of Northumbria – which overlooks the village and beach. Keen walkers will also enjoy the 14-mile walk to Newton by the Sea and back, with a lunch stop at the local pub. There’s also a separate utility room for doing laundry and storing muddy boots. There are also two large bedrooms with king-size beds (which can be made up as twins). One of the bedrooms has a gorgeous en-suite with a walk-in shower, the other bedroom has use of a Jack-and-Jill style bathroom, which can also be accessed from the corridor.

This cottage had everything I could have hoped for. The garden has a flat area, but slope quite steeply, this may be an issue for small exitable children. The surrounding fields contained a variety of farm animals which were adorable from both outside and inside the cottage thanks to the beautiful large windows. The kitchen was massive and well equRead moreipped, the lounge had very comfortable furniture and the temperature was very comfortable. The bathrooms, great, but we found the water temperature in the showers a little on the hot side even at the coolest setting, this was not a problem for us, but may be for others; easily sort outable, I would think.
