This delightful cottage is perfect for a family or friends holidaying together. Located within a Site of Special Scientific Interest, The Brecks, guests can explore the rolling farmland, dry heathland and pine forests on foot or by bike, whilst keeping an eye out for rare birds such as stone curlews and nightjars. Heading 12 miles west, you can pack a picnic and take a wander through the UK’s largest man-made lowland forest, Thetford Forest. For something a little less peaceful, motor enthusiasts will be keen to visit Snetterton Circuit (4 miles). You should also visit charming market towns Attleborough (7 miles) and Wymondham (12 miles), which have independent shops and eateries tucked away amongst their beautiful historic buildings. Venturing further afield, cities Norwich (24 miles) and Ely (30 miles) are also worth a visit.
A former farm building, this cosy country cottage boasts original features that are a wonderful reminder of the building’s heritage. Meanwhile, vaulted ceilings, light tones and contemporary furniture make it comfortable for the modern visitor. On entering, discard muddy shoes in the small hallway before heading into the beautiful lounge which has a roaring wood burner at its heart. This is a lovely spot to spend time together at the end of a busy day and be entertained by the TV, DVD player or CD player. From here, head into the kitchen/diner, which has everything you’ll need to cook up a hearty breakfast, pack a picnic or prepare an evening meal. Here you’ll find an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with icebox, dishwasher and washing machine. Shared use of a freezer is available in a separate outhouse. French doors add light to the dining room and also allow you to soak up the views. There are two beautiful bedrooms (one double and one zip-and-link twin/super king-size) which are bright, spacious and welcoming. Completing the accommodation is an en-suite shower room with shower and WC and an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.
Outside, there is an enclosed lawn and patio with stunning countryside views, which can be accessed from the French doors in the kitchen or lounge. A BBQ and seating make al fresco dining easy, whilst the clear skies are perfect for stargazing on a cloudless summer’s evening. There is parking for two cars on the drive.
