A neat and well-appointed stone cottage, this home from home is finished to a very high standard. Set back from the main coastal road which runs between this attractive fishing village and a host of attractions that line the Northumberland shoreline, it’s the perfect base for a large family or group of friends with children and an activity-laden agenda. Seahouses (0.5 miles) is home to a working harbour, shops, pubs and restaurants and an attractive coastline. The village is dominated by a vast sandy beach which stretches to Bamburgh (3 miles), itself home to an iconic castle and bustling village. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne (19 miles) boasts an imposing castle, priory ruins and an abundance of bird life.

After entering the property via a utility room, you’ll find yourself in a large dining room that enjoys sea views and has seamless access to the kitchen. Similar views can be found in the lounge, where a range of comfortable seating is arranged around a wood burner. A super-king bedroom and a single bedroom can be found on the ground floor, as can a family bathroom and separate shower room, allowing for flexible family living. Three more bedrooms are on the first floor: a twin room with views of the Cheviot Hills, a single room with garden views and a double room with sea views. A shower room completes the accommodation.

The outside of the property is just as attractive, with a lawned garden to the front and side, along with a lawned garden with furniture on the small patio to the rear - just the place for a debrief after a long day on the beach.

  • 5 bedrooms - 1 super-king-size zip-and-link bed than can be made up as a twin on request, 1 double, 1 twin, 2 singles
  • 3 bathrooms - 1 bathroom with shower over the bath and WC, 2 shower rooms with WC

This cottage is in an absolutely gorgeous location with views out to sea. We were a group of friends coming from different locations and there was plenty of parking and lots of space inside to relax - particularly with the fire on at night ! Thank you for a lovely stay !

Firstly the location of the house is amazing and the rooms are very spacious. We were contacted prior to the holiday to say there was some superficial issues with the house and we were offered the opportunity to cancel the booking, with just 2 1/2 weeks' notice we decided to keep the booking not quite knowing how severe this would be. Yes the houseRead more does need some TLC, there appears to have been some water damage/damp issues and there is mould on several walls/ceilings and flaking paint BUT according to the housekeeping staff (who had to revisit as the beds had been made up incorrectly) the owner is intending on addressing this over the winter as the property is fully booked until then. The proximity to the beach and Seahouses was perfect, it was nice and quiet at night and the garden space was welcomed on the sunny days. We had a lovely stay and would happily book again once the property has been redecorated. Hide

The cottage could be truly wonderful but sadly feels a bit neglected, it was clean but very tired and needs some attention. We were in two minds whether to stay for the full 5 nights we'd booked, partly due to the damp/foisty smell but also due to a feeling of unease we both had whilst in the property. We decided to stay as we'd made plans to seeRead more a lot of the surrounding area, we were lucky with the weather so spent much of the time away from the property and simply used it as a base. The rear garden is very large and would have been great for our two dogs but there was a broken fence panel at the rear and it backs onto a field with sheep and young lambs so we had to be extremely careful whilst using it. All that being said, it is in a great location and the view from the front of the property is a delight. There are photos on the wall of a family that used to live there, which was a nice touch, and the local tea/coffee provided was welcomed. Hide
