This quaint cottage is set in Saxmundham, a market town with direct trains to London's Liverpool Street and an excellent range of shops, public houses and restaurants, as well as a Wednesday market. Many of the shops and houses are from the Georgian or Victorian era, with some even dating back to Elizabethan times. The delightful town of Southwold – complete with a beach and traditional pier – is 14 miles away and you also have the coastal towns of Aldeburgh, Sizewell, Dunwich and Thorpeness in easy reach. Families, wildlife lovers and birdwatchers will love the nature trails at RSPB Minismere and Woodbridge, a vibrant market town on the banks of the River Deben, which is 13 miles away.
The cosy lounge has sofas set around a TV and an ornamental fireplace, and includes a small library of books, colouring pencils and drawing books. The separate dining room features a Welsh dresser housing crockery and utensils alongside a dining table and chairs for six. The galley kitchen has all you need to cook a meal together and from here, a door opens onto the rear garden. Cottage-style stairs lead to the first floor, where there are two double bedrooms along with a bathroom featuring a bath and a shower cubicle. A fold-down single bed is available if required.
The small but pretty garden has been laid to shingle with a plant border and paving, and features garden furniture. A separate summerhouse includes electricity, a small coffee and tea station and board games – it’s a lovely place to spend time come rain or shine.
