Padstow is renowned as a foodie destination, synonymous with chefs Rick Stein and Michelin-starred Paul Ainsworth. But there’s plenty to suit those with an appetite for adventure too – book a fishing trip, walk the South West Coast Path or cycle the Camel Trail to Wadebridge, less than 6 miles away. Just across the river, Rock is reputed to be the home of more millionaires than anywhere else in Cornwall; take the ferry over and you’ll find a beautiful beach which stretches alongside the Camel to Daymer Bay – at low tide, a mile of calm water and fine sand is fringed with dunes. Alternatively, a winding 4.5-mile drive will take you to Constantine Bay, among the county’s best sites for surfing and – because it’s west-facing – a beautiful spot for a sunset picnic.
A peaceful cul-de-sac location suggests that this is somewhere to unwind, and there’s certainly plenty of space in which to do so within the vast living room which opens onto an equally spacious dining area. A cool colour palette, generously-sized seating and soft carpeting underfoot feature in both rooms; the lounge area has a feature fireplace plus games, books, and SkyTV to keep guests entertained, while in the dining area there’s extensive elbow space and comfortable seating around a stylish table, plus French doors leading to the garden. There’s another door to the garden from the nearby kitchen, where you’ll find all the essentials for a self-catering stay, including a dishwasher. A utility room and cloakroom add to the convenience of the ground floor layout. Upstairs, there’s a luxurious family bathroom and four beautiful bedrooms to ensure a good night’s rest. The first has a king-size bed, TV and a glamorous en-suite shower room complete with twin basins and a walk-in dual-head shower. There are two double bedrooms plus a fourth with twin beds, and all bedrooms have space for clothes and personal belongings.
To the rear of the property and accessed from both the dining room and kitchen, the garden features a lawn, patio and flower beds. Equipped with sun loungers, and rattan furniture, it’s a delightful sanctuary at any time of day; the fencing all around makes it a safe place for children and pets to play too.
