Constantine Bay is a true gem in Cornwall’s coastal crown; the small village is surrounded by countryside and, on its western edge, a sweeping arc of golden sand. Backed by dunes, it’s a favourite for surfing, but there’s fun for all the family to enjoy here, with rock pools to explore and a west-facing aspect that’s perfect for sunset picnics and BBQs. Just to the north is Trevose Head, where you can take a short stroll for views of the distinctive white lighthouse or a more challenging route around the entire headland, while close by is the Trevose Golf and Country Club, one of the country’s finest links courses. Just 3 miles east, foodie favourite Padstow is a must-see, it's pretty streets leading to a historic harbour; take the ferry from here to Rock, said to be the home of more millionaires than anywhere else in Cornwall.
Enjoying a quiet location on the exclusive Trevose Estate, this impressive property is perfect for a large group gathering – there is even a comfortably furnished garden room annexe where a couple or small family could enjoy time with a larger party but still have their own space. Well-tended lawns and a large driveway welcome you to your holiday home, where steps lead to the main entrance and into a comfortable sitting room where the warm tones of wood flooring and furniture, leather sofas and a fireplace with a wood burner are all typical of the traditional styling present throughout the property. Listen to music or watch TV here in supreme comfort; the room is bathed in light thanks to windows on three aspects, all looking towards the front of the property. There are more sofas and armchairs plus another TV and sound system in the lounge/diner – where a dining suite has elbow space for all – and steps lead up into a well-equipped kitchen which has all the essentials, plus extras including a Nespresso coffee machine and boiling water tap. More home-from-home needs are met in the utility room, and for everyone’s convenience, there’s a cloakroom on the ground floor too. Perfect for those who’d prefer not to climb stairs, at this level, there are three bedrooms, each with clothes storage space and a hairdryer, plus a suite-style area featuring a dressing room that could accommodate a cot. The main bedroom features a super-king-size bed, TV and a spacious en-suite wet room where there’s a roll-top freestanding bath, separate drench shower and twin basins. A twin-bedded room has its own TV while another has bunk beds, and both share use of the main family bathroom close by. On the first floor, there are two further bedrooms – one with a double bed and en-suite shower room, the other with a single bed. Separate to the main house and accessed via the garden, the annexe has a ground-floor kitchen/diner and shower room. Above, the first-floor bed/sitting room is light, bright and has additional seating; this room offers a king-size sofa bed plus two singles (that are only suitable for children) and a TV, DVD, dressing table and hairdryer.
Lawns and hedges to the front of the property give privacy, the driveway allowing somewhere to leave vehicles when you walk to the beach; there’s a charging point for electric-powered cars too. But it’s at the back of the house where you’ll spend most time outdoors – a south-facing terrace with wooden furniture, armchairs and a stone chimney BBQ is ideal for relaxed al fresco dining. Steps lead up from here onto the large lawn where there’s a Wendy house youngsters will love. The entire rear garden is bounded by fencing and hedging so children and pets can play safely, while some lovely trees offer shade and seasonal colour. A side gate grants access without having to go through the house, and an outdoor shower with hot and cold water is perfect for rinsing off sandy feet and wetsuits.
