Fun, family-friendly and with its own unique micro-climate, Swanage is a much-loved seaside resort on the eastern edge of the Isle of Purbeck. There’s lots to entertain visitors of all ages here, including an iconic Victorian pier and a sweeping bay where gently sloping, golden sands are lapped by clear water. In the town centre, big-brand and independent stores line streets that will excite every shopper, while there’s a wealth of cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants to satisfy all appetites. The surrounding countryside has lots to discover too – drive or take a steam train trip inland through the countryside to Corfe Castle, 5.5 miles away, or drive 17 miles west along the coast to Lulworth Cove, famous for its panoramic views, unique geology and crystal-clear waters. In the other direction, Studland Bay (3.5 miles) is another much-loved beauty spot with, at its southern end, one of the most famous landmarks on the South Coast: the chalk stack known as Old Harry Rocks. For a real taste of luxury, catch the ferry across to the so-called ‘millionaires’ playground’ of Sandbanks, the most expensive coastal location in the UK.
A warm welcome awaits guests at this attractive second-floor apartment, which is accessorised with local artwork and easily reached by a lift from the property’s shared entrance. Step through your front door and you’ll find a hallway with space for coats and shoes leading into a light and airy lounge/dining room, with a comfortable sofa and large TV. A dining table sits before the unusual circular bay window – enjoy views down to the town and out to sea as you eat! Just off the living room, a stylish kitchen with integrated appliances and under-counter lighting has plenty of space and all you need for your stay, while across the hallway are two bedrooms: one with a king-size bed and en-suite shower room, the other with zip-and-link twin beds that can be joined to make a second king-size. A good-sized modern family bathroom adds to the comfort and convenience for a group of four.
The beach is less than 350 metres away and the well-tended Prince Albert Gardens, with their open-air amphitheatre, are close by too, while Durston Castle and Country Park is less than a mile away.
