A lovely country cottage, close to the charming village of Lucker (1.5 miles), with its restaurant and popular village pub, and the famous coastal village of Bamburgh, 4.5 miles. It’s the perfect place for a family or four friends to explore the many historic and iconic sights of this beautiful part of Northumberland. Visit the magnificent castle at Bamburgh, England’s finest coastal fortress for over 1,400 years, and home to a fantastic collection of treasures, artworks and ceramics from around the world. The village itself is home to shops, pubs, and cafes, but take time to see the RNLI’s Grace Darling Museum which tells the fascinating story of the young girl who risked her life to rescue others from certain death in a terrible storm. A short 12-mile drive south will take you to another spectacular castle, the magnificent medieval ‘Windsor of the North’, Alnwick Castle, recognised by millions as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the Harry Potter films. Discover the natural wonders of the coast – the cottage is almost in the centre of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which stretches from Scremerston, 15 miles to the north, to Amble, 20 miles to the south.
Enter the cottage into the large, open-plan living space with lounge, dining, and kitchen areas. Here, you will find lovely features and contemporary furniture. Sink down into the sofa, put a log on the wood burner, and watch your favourite film on the Smart TV (with Netflix provided), or enjoy a meal at the stylish table for four. Take the cottage-style stairs from the lounge area up to the first floor, where there are two bedrooms, one king-size and one twin, and a family shower room.
Outside, make the most of the al fresco dining opportunities, where the paved and gravel courtyard is enclosed and furnished with a table and chairs, and has a Weber BBQ for outdoor cooking.
