This cottage is set in rural splendour, offering a stylish yet cosy base for families and friendship groups of up to six guests. You’ll be hidden away in the village of Adderstone, just 4.5 miles from Bamburgh with its legendary castle that looms over the vast expanse of golden sand at its feet. Heading towards the Northumberland coast, this destination is known for its windswept coastal trails, charming harbour villages and stunning views out to sea, but it is the village delicacy that puts nearby Craster (14.5 miles) on the map. If the rows of oak-smoked barrels don’t give it away, you’ll soon discover a taste of the local fare of choice - kippers! Delving deeper into the mysterious heritage of this dramatic stretch of heritage coastline will reward you with secret beaches such as those at Rumbling Kern, a spot that carries dark tales of smuggling and woe of the underground whisky trade. Dunstanburgh Castle (14 miles) can be reached by meandering along the coastal path from Craster, pausing to admire the majestic rock formations that have been shaped by the elements for centuries. Alnwick is another excellent choice for a day trip, promising yet another impressive castle alongside a whole host of shops, eateries and exciting heritage trails.
Return from your adventures exhilarated and ready to relax in style, kicking off your walking boots and curling up on the comfortable lounge sofas. There’s a wood burner for added atmosphere, plus a range of entertainment options including a TV and DVD player for family film nights, and a CD player and BOSE speakers for playing your favourite tunes. This open-plan space is perfect for socialising, especially when you whip up hearty comfort food classics in the kitchen and gather to feast together around the table. Moving upstairs, the sleek decor is evident throughout your abode, featuring artistic wallpaper and soothing lighting within each room. There are three bedrooms to choose from, two of which have sloped ceilings and crisply dressed twin beds, just beware of reduced head height. The final bedroom is a super-king-size bed that can be converted into twins on request. This room also has a TV and an en-suite shower room and WC. Completing the property is an elegant bathroom on the ground floor.
Your outside space will prove very tempting for al fresco drinks on the patio and a spot of stargazing. Take care to supervise curious hounds whilst you unwind; the garden isn’t enclosed and the rural setting means there will be plenty of scents to sniff out - if the BBQ doesn’t lure them back to you first.
