Located in the hamlet of Waren Mill, overlooking Budle Bay, this penthouse apartment for four guests is a great base to enjoy the amazing natural beauty of this part of the Northumberland coast. The winter months see thousands of wildfowl and waders descend on the bay’s mudflats, making it the perfect place for keen birdwatchers. And with easy access to the surrounding countryside, glorious sandy beaches, and historic castles, it’s great for both group and family holidays. Enjoy walking along the coast to Bamburgh, 3 miles, where you can also visit the magnificent medieval castle, England’s finest coastal fortress for over 1,400 years. Take a trip to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, 13 miles to the north. Famous for being the first place in Britain to be invaded by the Vikings when they landed here in 793AD, the island is now home to pubs, cafes, and gift shops, as well as Lindisfarne Castle and the ruins of the ancient priory. Enjoy a day out in Berwick, 17 miles, where you can walk the 1.25 miles of Elizabethan walls that surround the town, visit the Granary Gallery and the Berwick Museum and Gallery, and enjoy the many shops, restaurants, cafes, and pubs of this popular tourist destination.
From the ground floor entrance of the main building, take the stairs or lift to the third floor. Here, you will find the private entrance to the apartment. From the hallway, go through the double glass doors into the wide open-plan living space, featuring a lounge, dining and kitchen area, where you can check out the views across the bay to the sea. Relax on one of the two comfortable leather sofas or the armchair, and catch up on your favourite TV shows, watch a film, or listen to some music. Take a seat at the dining table, with seating for six, and enjoy a feast cooked up in the kitchen area beyond. To the rear of the apartment, you will find the two bedrooms, the master with a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom, and the second bedroom with twin beds. There is also a separate shower room.
Head back downstairs, and out to where the lawned gardens at the front of the building (shared by the building’s residents and guests) run down to the edge of the bay. Relax at the tables with bench seating for al fresco lunches, or a cold drink in the sun on a hot day.
